Matthew 7 (Jesus speaking to the Pharisees)
9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Romans 2-
13For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, 15since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)

This is for anyone, Christians, as a fellow believer and Lover of Christ, can we please stop insisting that people who do not have the Bible are not Moral? There are plenty of people, and Christ even specifies in the Scriptures, that those who do not have God can still be morally minded individuals. I'm not saying that the moral mindedness will get them to Heaven, but they are not all barbaric idiots seeking to do evil at every juncture.

Even those who do not have Christ as their Savior do not choose to do the sinful thing everytime they have a choice. And those without Christ still have consciences. Let's not treat humans as less than human simply because they do not have Christ, and stop asking the stupid questions such as "How do atheists have morals if they don't have Christ?"

Let's not show ourselves to be ignorant people. As Paul states in 1 Timothy "study the Scriptures to show yourselves approved workmen of God"

Can we all agree on this? What are your opinions?

Laptop Jesus:
I do not defend evil actions, however, not every action that someone outside of Christianity does is evil.

Plus, if you want to go down the road you are explaining, then Christians are evil too. Just because you have accepted Christ does not mean you have stopped sinning, and if you think it does, you are sadly mistaken. While everyone knows John 3:16, let's see what John 3:17 says-

17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

It is not our job to condemn, it is our job to be tools of God in the salvation of people. Pointing out sin is crucial, because people won't believe they need to be saved if they don't know what they need to be saved from, but let's not be ignorant of reality and say that people who don't have Christ aren't moral. I'm not saying every non-Christian is moral, but I'm also not saying that every Christian is moral.

I agree with you. There are some atheists/agnostics/pagans who seem to have a higher sense of morality than some Christians. I agree that doesn't mean that they are in a right state before God, but neither do I believe that immoral, petulant, contentious Christians are in a right state before God. It's good that they're in a place where God can work on them, I guess, but they'll have to answer for "every idle word."

If a person applys 1 Cor. 13 type of love towards others and exhibits Gal 5 type of fruit then yes they will be without even knowing it be obeying the law.

You still haven't asked a question.

I do not think that everyone who claims to be an atheist or a catholic or anything else runs around looking for evil to do. Such generalizations tend to sweep every christian into the same dustbin to be discarded. I'm the most fundelmentilist here from I've seen and I don't hate nor condemn anyone but it certainly does not mean I won't tell them the truth. If the truth seems condemning then goodness maybe deep down inside they know that what they are doing is wrong. hmm?

Thank you. I have to say how sad it is that so few people have responded to this question. As a Wiccan, I truly believe in the rede, and that we should harm none, and that we shall reap as we sowed (we call it karma). It's so nice to see a Christ-like Christian. We need more of you! You've absolutely made my day.

And now I'm going to log off before I find a posting telling all non-believers the end of days are near and we're completely immoral. :-)

Blessed be!

In my opinion, as an Atheist, you make a damn good point. Thank you for being one of many intelligent Christians who isn't afraid to follow the teachings of Christ, and one of the few who's vocal enough to remind self-righteous Christians to do the same.

From the bottom of my heretical heart I thank you for being a Christian who walks their talk, knows their scripture and is willing to actually set a Christ like example. Wow! I'm blown away....a real Christian! I thought they were extinct on Y!A.

Thanx from a moral Atheist.

God gives me good gifts.

If Atheist were showing that they had morals, lets see on here I have seen them having a orgy in heaven, play a drinking game with certain questions, hmmmm I don't consider these good morals, perhaps if they started to display the good morals that they claim to have then I might think differently of them then I presently think.
I do not defend evil or evil actions and deeds.
Why do you?

So what happens with a serial killer who believes in God - was he not created in God's image?

I completely agree. There are a number of people who, even though they are agnostic, apathetic, or atheistic, are good people.

Thank you.

Could you also add, "how can you love without God/Jesus?"

I am very happily in love, but my beliefs are in no part Christian.
