Yes, it a process called oprative conditioning. Find something your little girl likes and use it as a reward when she eats. don't use food as a reward (typical in op-con) but maybe a special toy she really likes that she only gets after she has eaten. Make small goals- like a certian portion of food to be eaten. if you work on changing her behavior patterns she will learn new ones. picky eaters are tough, so feed her a variety of foods until you find what she really enjoys. think outside the normal toddler foods also. I hope this is helpful to you! Good luck!

Try to keep in mind that young children typically have little appetites. They tend to eat small portions as their stomachs do not hold adult size ones easily. I would suggest that you try such as finger foods which are easier for the young child to grasp and funner for them to eat as.
Kids like to hold things in their hands, food being no exception. Try as they did with the Christmas Story, make a "game" to a small extent of like a flying airplane noise when putting the spoon full towards their mouth, saying to open wide.
When a child has some interaction during eating they look forward to the event more. IF the dr. says there is nothing wrong with her digestion then try such as these to start. IF she needs to gain weight liquids have calories also and if she is not a big eater try to get her to drink more milk, juice, etc.to get some filler calories. Be patient, kids sense tension and respond to it and refuse to eat when upset sometimes.

All the suggestions above are good ones. here's another: Is she on a pediatric multi-vitamin? Does it contain zinc? Zinc is often a factor in children with small appetities. Check out your local health food store and see if they have a children's multi-vite with zinc. Be careful to figure out the correct dosage for her age.
Also, as a rule children prefer soft foods they don't have to chew much, so think cheese and crackers, fruit cut up into sections, chicken breast finely chopped and mashed with a little milk or mayonnaise and made into sandwiches on soft bread, egg salad sandwiches, etc.

When all else fails, feed her lots and lots of Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches and a cup of milk.
Wheat Bread- Grain
Peanut Butter- Protein
Jelly- Fruit
Milk- dairy
You can't go wrong. Kids love it and it's healthy and they can feed themselves.
GOOD LUCK!
It worked for my kid.

Feed her something like pasta, pastina, or farina, these have carbs and protein and kids love it with some tomato sauce and cheese on it.
