I have to redecorate and was taking old wall paper off and found two more layers of prehistoric paper underneath! It is really hard to get off any suggestions?

Use the Paper Tiger perforation device and the stuff you spray on the wall paper to get it to let loose. Then cover with clear plastic (it should just slap up against the wall and hold if the wall is wet enough) to hold in the moisture and let sit over night. Next day rent the steamer and have a good old time.

Remember to make certain ALL the old glue is off the walls when finished. Keep washing until it no longer feels like oatmeal on the walls.

Use a wallpaper scorer found in a wallpaper place or hardware store. This will put holes though all the layers. Then squirt it with warm or hot water mixed with liquid fabric softner. Let it sit for 15 min, then start tearing it off. Or you could rent a wallpaper steamer instead of spraying.

I do this all the time in my line of work .

Try to soaking the paper with warm water and detergent just a enough to get it to foam a bit.Give it about 20mins to soak.

It has alway worked for me then you just scrap it off with a trowel.

In the past, I have filled a spray bottle with hot water. Spray the paper thoroughly, wait, maybe 30 seconds or so, and start peeling. Let one area soak while you are peeling another. It works and its free!

You can usually use a steam gun - you can usually rent them at tool places.
