My daughter is invited to a birthday party for twins (a boy and girl). The girl is in her class but the boy is in another class. The classes do certain activities together (lunch, gym) so my daugher does know the boy. Since both classes are invited to the birthday party, should she take a gift only for the girl in her class since the boy's classmates will be bringing him gifts? Otherwise each child will receive 24 gifts due to the number of kids attending.

I think you need to buy for both children. Maybe you could find something they could both enjoy, like a game or some books.

Personally I feel like birthday parties like that for kids are just a bad idea.

To be honest, I would call the host family and ask what the children are expecting. It sounds like quite a large party, so a truly gracious host might say, "Oh, one gift is plenty, if you choose to bring one."

However, I have known several sets of twins who always felt short-changed - one set that was born near Xmas, and got one b-day/Xmas/both-of-you presents all the time!

I really think that the best way to handle this, and not raise such questions in the minds of attendees, would have been to have two separate parties, or at least in two separate rooms. Then you would bring a gift for the party you are invited to.

I think you need to bring a gift for both. Either one they can share or buy the boy a small token gift (a puzzle, small Lego or Kinex kit, etc) but I don't think you should ignore his birthday since the party is for both.

I think you either need to buy for both children or get a game as a gift and address it to both of them.

You should always buy for both the people. It is both of their parties. If you dont really know the boy then get him a giftcard if you dont know what to get.
