Hitler was responsible for the death of c. 10 million people in a combination of Holocaust, POW camps and WWII in general.
Stalin was responsible for the death of c. 15 million people mainly in the aftermath of WWII and his supression of the Russian peoples for the following 10 years.
God and religion in particular Christianity, Islam and Juddaism has been cited as the cause of / reason for the death of c. 100 million in a killing spree running throughout the ages including Crusades, English Civil War, French Wars of Religion, Jihad, Reconquista, Reformation, Hitler's justification for the Holocaust, Arab / Israeli wars, Terrorism, Ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Serbia, Northern Ireland..... the list really does go on.
So how can anyone deny that God (and religion) is the biggst war criminal of all?

To those people who say 'It was man not god' they might want tonote that I haven't mentioned things like Flood, Plagues etc that feature in the bible. I an using religion and the 'name of god' as the causes of war, if you want to add on all of deaths n the bible that are directly attributable to god, then lets crank his murder rap up to 150 million shall we?

You are correct in every detail but 1, God (if you believe) was not directly responsible for the wars, it is more like man acting on behalf of god, although religeon was and still is cited as the main cause of all war today. In my view, how can something that does not exist be responsible.

It is true that God is involved in a war. There was a rebellion in heaven. This war continues on planet earth. But if we don't understand to see the difference between the war of good against evil and the war of evil against good, we will get utterly confused. We cannot blame God for what false religions do.
American soldiers killed lots of Germans to get rid of Hitler and Nazism. But I seldom hear someone blame America for that (I live in Europe).

I dunno - maybe cuz I'm stupid - but I think that PEOPLE started and participated in these wars. That little fact has a hard time sinking into the heads of many folks. I wonder who'd they'd blame if God 'dropped out'? Most wars are political - at least that's what my Disney coloring book says. The religion excuse is used by leaders to justify their killing inclinations. Hitler wanted to get rid of a people that he thought were dominating the education, finance and art centers of Germany. Who was that? I'm not positive - I shudda studied harder - but I think that the Jewish people qualified for that. So Hitler wiped them out to the best of his ability. To blame that on God, those poor 6,000,000 souls starved to death, gassed, burned, is senseless. I think that Hitler had a hand in it - and so did his buddies. I can go on and on but I have to take my nap - what time do you take yours? Oh yeah, may God bless you!

Salam Alaikum, God is never a Criminal of any kind. We do the actions and he gives us the consiquences. Its like if you drink alcohol, which god forbade, you could for instance get liver cancer. That is the Consiquence of your action. The tusnami happend due to global warming, again Humans fault. God has no blame, and God is never a criminal, come join an islamic group we can help you understand more about Isam. search on the group options for this group: Islam & Muslims.

I believe without a doubt that God is real. And a God of love. But your argument has merit. All I know is that sometimes people do things in the name of their god that go beyond the point of decency and we know that is wrong. God commanded the children of Isreal to do things in battle that I have a hard time understanding.
But I still believe in Him with my heart. I can only assume that I'll understand later. But right now, He's God and in charge. That means He can run the show to suit His pleasure.

There were around 30 million humans at the time of the supposed flood that would have been killed directly by God.

People are the cause of wars and will hide behind religion to try and justify it. God is never a criminal. He is more holy than you or I could ever imagine and I really fear for people who malign Him because one day we are all going to have to face Him. Wisdom is the fear of God.

Religion and religious people do put others down, but they would not put themselves in the same group as Hitler and Stalin

Its always made me so sad what people do in the name of "religion". It actually just greed and need to be right. It perverts the religions to the point they are the same...which come to think of it is the biggest problems with them atm.
