Well, the issue was already cleared up, East Jerusalem for the Palestinians, West Jerusalem for the Israelis. The Israeli's wont give up east Jerusalem and hey presto, conflict.

In 1947 Jerusalem was supposed to become an international city under guardianship of the United Nations. Then the Muslim countries told everyone that the Arab Legion was going to destroy Israel and the Jews. They didn't take into account that Jews could fight, probably because of the Holocaust, which some Arabs, paradoxically, now say didn't happen. In two wars, where Arabs other than Palestinians, tried to defeat Israel, they lost all Jerusalem to the Israelis.

I think they should declare that there will be no official religion. It's a holy area to three different religions. If they declared no official religion, it would stop the three from fighting over it as much. They would all be free to worship as they chose.
