The Hebrew God lied to Eve by omission. He did not give her warning that she should not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He did warn Adam before Eve was supposedly created from Adam's rib. Eve was then seduced, in her innocence, by evil, which she could not recognize because she had not eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Paradoxically, the Hebrew God then punished Eve, because she was as innocent as he had created her when she was seduced into the decision to eat of the Tree.

NO it is not possible. The bible says clearly that God is not a man that he should lie. Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2, Hewbrews 6:18 esp., I John 2:21. We know the bible also says I am the way the truth and the life.

Interesting, possibly existential, question. Now to sound pedantic, it depends on how you define lie. For example, some would say the word of God is always the truth so therefore, God can never lie. Others might say that God does communicate in way that is generally recognizable to humans, that is through language and gestures, therefore, lying is not part of God's repertoire.
I say that there is lots of evidence (famine, pestilence, violence, fear) to prove that God is capable of making mistakes (is fallible). If lies are mistakes, then God is capable of lying. That does not mean that God does lie, only that God is capable of lying.

The Bible clearly states at Titus 1:2 "2 upon the basis of a hope of the everlasting life which God, who cannot lie, promised before times long lasting".
Numbers 23:19 says: "God is not a man that he should tell lies, Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret. Has he himself said it and will he not do it, And has he spoken and will he not carry it out? "
Hebrews 6: 18 also says: "in order that, through two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to the refuge may have strong encouragement to lay hold on the hope set before us."
So clearly by looking at what the Bible says, we know that God cannot lie.

Something created in the imagination can neither lie nor tell the truth but God's self appointed agents on Earth have the same shortcomings as any other salesmen.

LOL Well first off I'd want to know why he would need to lie. I mean think about it. Why do we lie? We lie to get out of trouble. Which of course means that God would have someone that he/she needed to lie to.

No God cannot lie, God is truth, it would run contrary to his nature for him to lie, God is limited by his nature, that is why God cannot sin.
As for what Sheol said:
Omnipotent refers to physical powers. Such as Creating, Building, Moving, etc. It does not negate God's omnipotence to say that he cannot lie. Lying runs contrary to what God's nature is. God cannot be Unjust, because he is Justice, God does not hate people, because he is Love. If you have trouble understanding this there are plenty of sites with literature about this very topic.

CAN GOD LIE? If you believe there is a god; no. God does not lie, we have just misunderstood what he has told us. Hence the term 'lost in translation'. If you don't believe there is a god then it wouldn't matter, now would it?

I imagine if he took the form of Man he could lie. Or sit. Or stand. Whatever makes him comfortable.
