when the parents screw up it's usually the baby that takes the fall in instances of drug and alcohol abuse and incest as well. why doesn't god punish the parents in stead in these situations and let the babies develop normally? i think you'd have a lot fewer cases of these instances if people realized they would be the ones deformed from participating in these actions. don't you.

lsuballs, maybe they're trying to be more christlike. if christ is god and god kills babies, aren't they just doing what they're supposed to be doing?

The Bible does say that children will pay for the sins of their father.
I don't understand why God lets children be born with deformities, etc... however, I will never understand.
Think about it in terms of other situation where parents screw up and kids pay.
Mom and dad get divorced. Both have their OWN home and new "loves". The kid gets two homes but neither one is really "home" and mom/dad are so preoccupied with their new love life that the kid gets forgotten.
Mom and/or dad get arrested. Kid now has one less parent and a community that looks at them differently.
Mom and dad are out at a bar drinking. They wreck on the way home and both die. The kid is left a orphan because of the parents sin.
It goes on and on. I don't understand it and I wouldn't do this if I were God. However, I am sure God has a bigger picture so that must be why I am not God.
I'm not sure if people would change if the deformity became theirs instead of their childs. Those type of people aren't thinking clearly so I really doubt that it would make a difference.

I trust whoever reported having somewhat one is a Blessing. And no i don't think God might punish all people for having a baby in love and taking good care of the youngster. There are some religions that say what your brother is asserting, yet bear in ideas human beings made up faith not God. Your Brother forgive me for asserting this seems to be very recommend lively and that i might sidestep him, because of fact he will make your existence and the existence of your toddler a living hell. he will make certain you're actually not happy. he will punish you not God. you may evaluate studying approximately different faiths that are greater accepting and becoming to be a member of considered one of them. Even the close by UU church would be welcoming and not so judgmental. That way you may proceed to have your faith with out your brothers poison. bear in ideas the two way you will might desire to shelter your baby from the flaws your brother says. or it may harm the toddler previous restore. Many Blessing to you and your toddler, and good success

How awful for you that you believe in a vengeful God that would punish the innocent for the mistakes or actions of others.

Babies aren't "punished" for their mother's and father's drug use. It is an unfortunate and atrocious side-effect of their choice to continue using alcohol or drugs during pregnancy. However, you can't truly believe that God would intentionally harm a forming infant to get back at the parents, do you? Because if that is your belief, then I would ask you, who is really being punished here? Certainly not the parents who didn't care enough to clean up their act. And I hate to think that you would even consider God to be so petty as to take out his displeasure on the innocent and unprotected.

Your blaming the wrong entity. God doesn't interfere with free will and if people choose to be assholes and become addicted to drug and cause suffering to family and dependents, it's their wrongdoing, not GOD's.
Living is a two-pronged situation. People can choose to do good or bad just like God instructed from the beginning of time.
And the babies, yes, it's an immeasurable sorry mess because they are unable to choose their course by nature.

You do know that not everything here on Earth is a result of God first of all.

People have free will and if they choose to do things of the devil than there is nothing God can do until it is time for devine judgement. Do you think that when it comes time to be judged that God would punish the babes.

Do you believe in a benevolant God, an observant God, or a Compasionate one? God is not a police officer or a parent. He is a silent observer.

I'm not a religious person, but to answer this the way a religious person would: God isn't punishing babies, God give free will and choice, the parents are punishing their children, and maybe seeing what they do to another innocent human by their childish and carless action will inspire them to be better human beings and kick their habbits.

Everything happens for a reason and everyone lives are intertwined for a reason. Everyone makes mistakes and believe it or not drug and alcohol addiction is not a choice. God has his plans and his reasons and just because you don't know what they are and you cant understand them doesn't mean there wrong.

Have you ever noticed that if you can overcome adversity in your life your only that much stronger when you get through it? IF GOD NEVER ALLOWED US TO GO THROUGH ANYTHING PAINFUL WE WOULD NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN OR BE STRONGER.

Such parents will be punished in the Hereafter if they are not punished in the world. Babies are not being punished. These are things that only God can understand and we as his mere creation can't . Everything is predestined.

How does that equate to God punishing the baby? Isn't it the parents punishing the baby? God sees that and is not pleased.

God doesn't control our lives. God gives us knowledge in right and wrong and we have to live our lives according to God's Laws. If we do not there will be consequences for many people. It is our fault, not God's. When we die and meet God then we will get our just punishment for how we chose to live our lives.
