Santeria is evil, and those who practice it are sinning. God strictly forbids any form of fortune telling or divination, and sacrificing an animal mocks Christ's death on the Cross, since He was the only Sacrifice now necessary.
These spirits are demonic, and while they can make guesses about the future and/or align situations to bring their predictions, they cannot be 100% accurate. That's why some things come true, but many things never happen or don't happen in the way that they were predicted.
Only God knows the future, and the test of His prophets was that they were completely correct. Santeria is not anything that a Christian should even be considering -- much less participating in.

RE:
Question for christians... Is Santeria a sin or evil?
Santeria is a secret religion that contacts spirits and deities to tell the future of anyone willing to pay. Believers also sacrafice animals as an offering to these deities so that the animal's blood makes them more powerful. Are these spirits or deities really demons? If they are demons,...

There is no such thing as harmless dabbling in the occult. All practices of divination, astrology, amulets, crystals, charms, palmistry,tea-readings astral projections,far-east religions, yoga, martial arts, japanese anime, dungeons and dragons, witch craft, wicca, sorcery, ouija boards, psychic hot lines, black magic, white magic, seances,or talking to the dead, channelling, voodoo, santeria, hypnosis, zodiac, metaphysics, are of the enemy satan, they are not of God, and they are dangerous, they have opened the door to the enemy, satan, and prayer for deliverance is needed. There are spiritual attachments on these and can cause harm to the person, or persons using them, or the household that they are kept in. Anything, Any practice that exalts itself above God is satanic, it is a stronghold, and needs to be pulled down, and repented of. Every work of satan has been destroyed by Jesus ( Luke 4:18-20) Areas of Bondage : People are enslaved or subjected to some force, compulsion,or influence A person could be under the control or manipulation of something evil and destructive People can be led away from God's best and the path and become deceived A person could be in bondage to wrong thoughts,a philosophy, an attitude, an emotion, feelings, or actions Works of the flesh are bondage Bondages destroy health, mental sanity, marriages, and families, careers, and the destiny that God has ordained for an individual to fulfill The word "abomination" means a sin that is the most detestable to God; something most disgusting to God;something God hates over all sins. God especially hates idolatry which is the worship or seeking after other gods. Whenever a person seeks supernatural wisdom from anything that God has not ordained, it is the sin of idolatry. Whenever people practice the works of idolatry, it is sin. Families can suffer for generations and can cause generational curses because of participation in idolatry. Anyone, who renounces such practices, repents, and asks forgiveness from God, can and will be delivered, and then covered by the Blood of Jesus to be completely free and liberated. Good question, thanks God Bless You

Santeria is a religion and is well known in the Caribbean and also in South Florida. It is more than fortune telling. Read about it a little before you ask these questions.

It it sinful to be active in the things you are talking about.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church States:
2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.

To consult mediums or spirits to find out the future is spelled out in God's word as a sin and is punishable by stoning.
Sounds evil to me.

why would you say it's a question for christians? I'm christian in America and it's not part of "our" religion. I think it comes from another country.(perhaps South America, "some" Spanish) and their inhabitants brought it with them to America.

God does not want us using magic and sorcery, period. But if you do find yourself talking to one, Test the spirits. IF THEY CONFESS that Jesus Christ came to the earth, died to save us, and rose again, and is alive right now, then these "spirits" are not demons. But if they do not confess these things, then they are demons and servants of Satan and will drag you straight to Hell with their lies and deceitfulness. My suggestion, forsake magic and sorcery of all forms altogether, immediately, and repent. Seek God and God alone.
