After surgery it's normal to experience pain, it's going to be worse if you try doing too many things quickly after surgery. Your muscles are very sensitive Because of the surgery and you could have strained a muscle. Call your doctor and ask if this pain is normal. Your doctor is the best person to advise you what to do after surgery.

sounds like you might have pulled a muscle - reproducible (gets worse or is there with deep breathing, coughing, certain movement, etc.) is often (but not always) associated with the chest wall and muscles. could also be something with your gallbladder or liver, which is right in that general area, or something to do with your surgery too. best thing i can tell you to do is call your dr and see what they suggest - if it's a pulled muscle it's pretty much just wait till it goes away, if it's really bad they can put you on pain meds and muscle relaxants but they try not to if they don't have to. good luck!

A few years ago my brother had his appendix removed, and a few days afterwards he had the same sort of pain. I remember when he went back to the doctor about it, it turned out to be air that had gotten trapped inside when they were removing his appendix. At least, I'm fairly sure that's what it was anyyway..either way, you should get back to your doctor asap. Hope you feel better soon. xo

See the Doc! I had pain in my right rib area when I bent over but realized I was carrying a long screwdriver in my right pants pocket.
