"The evidence indicates that Iraq is reconstituting its nuclear weapons program. Saddam Hussein has held numerous meetings with Iraqi nuclear scientists, a group he calls his "nuclear mujahideen" -- his nuclear holy warriors. Satellite photographs reveal that Iraq is rebuilding facilities at sites that have been part of its nuclear program in the past. Iraq has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes and other equipment needed for gas centrifuges, which are used to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons."

Cincinnati, Ohio speech, October 7, 2002

"Our intelligence officials estimate that Saddam Hussein had the materials to produce as much as 500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent."

State of the Union Address, January 28, 2003

"Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."

How you can still deny Bush was lying to everyone is just mind boggling.

Denial has been said to be a powerful tool. You guys are the Bob Vila of politics.

It's Bush's administration. He and his administration were the ones pushing this faulty intelligence on everyone.

Nobody in Congress is to blame, not even the Republicans in Congress. They all voted on information they had to assume was correct.

You are missing a key point in your rally against the war in Iraq. It wasn't the nuclear issue that started all of this. It was a few well placed people who hijacked some airplanes and crashed into a couple of really tall buildings in New York. Does 9-11 ring any bells for you? I thought I would break it down so you could understand :)
The American people became outraged. We wanted to kill every one of the people involved in these attacks.
We the people were p.o.'d at the inactivity that immediatley surrounded these attacks. We wanted action and we wanted to fight.
Just so you know there have been discoveries in Iraq and guess what, you must not be in that particular loop. Soldiers are getting sick from exposure to unknown chemicals and areas are now off limits because of certain findings.
I am sorry that you feel that you were lied to in the early days of Iraq. We the people got the fight we asked for. Now everyone is ticked that we are still there. I guess we were supposed to go in and leave in a week just so the people got a taste of war and could slap each other on the back and say job well done. We kicked some serious butt.
If our President, the man we elected through our democracy, chooses to keep some of the details to himself we gave him the power to do that.
I am not the President and I dont know what his thinking is, was or will be. I do what I have to do, as do the rest of the American people. Everyday I follow in a plan some one else has designed for me. I work with Doctors who make life or death decisions. There are times when they aren't right either.

I am not God so I can not judge some one elses actions just choose to do what is right for me at that time.

I am absolutely amazed at the memory of the American public. GW sent the US to war on a lie about WMD's. ( The inspectors at the time said that there was no evidence that WMDs existed) Then the republicans said they were moved just before the invasion. Then we were there to bring democracy to the region. (Still waiting). Somewhere in there the Iraqs would welcome the US with open arms.( 3000 + US deaths later I wonder what would have happened if they didn't want the US there) Then the US started talking about the murder of Kurds by Saddam. (Conveniently disregarding the various acts of genocide in Africa not to mention that I doubt that very many pepol in the US know what a Kurd is) Now the republicans say the US must bring stability to the region. Again conveniently forgetting that it was the US which destabilized the region with the removal and execution of Saddam Hussein. Amnesia...ain't it grand.

Definition of a lie: To make an untrue statement with the intent to deceive.

All of these quotes were based on the best intelligence of the time from many different governments. It was believed by George Bush, foriegn leaders, Republicans and Democrats in Congress, and many others. Bush said what he believed was correct at the time. Many Democrats said the same things. Just because it proved to be false doesn't mean he lied. It just means he had bad information.

How you guys can say Bush lied is mind boggling.

No disrespect but you just never know who to trust as far as politics go anymore. My father was CIA , Recon ,Sgt. Major in the Marine Corp. for 38 years. We were not allowed to know his where abouts for 8 years.

The first thing he told my brothers "Son do not ever trust the governement, I dont care what bullshit they try and sell you"

I am a history major and still remain screwed up in the head every time someone wants to discuss politics....It scares me and most of it's bullshit.

I suppose it is allright if both parties were lying/fed false information. Though how the war was authorized by the US congress is beyond me- I mean, the "proof" the US showed the rest of the world were renderings of trucks that were supposed to be mobile biological weapons factories...

And that remains today to be the only effort to justify the whole war by the US government.

If there were no WMDs in Iraq can you explain what the two mustard-gas artillery shells my unit recovered were?

Sounds to me like you are lying when you claim that there were no WMD recovered.

It is amazing how "they" keep bringing up Clinton. How about George Sr.? Clinton fired cruise missiles at bin Laden and the Republicans criticized him for it.
How does anyone believe anything this administration says when they have either lied, or been wrong on everything in Iraq?

How do you explain the thousands of Iraqis Saddam murdered?

Did you see any of the images of mothers holding their babies, frozen in place, dead? How do you suppose this happened, and why?

Do you think he strolled through these villages with a big stick? WHO'S head is buried in the sand?

Again, get back to work! Those couch potatoes watching The View right now are counting on you.
