Addictions are never easy to stop. There are twelve step programs for people addicted to marijuana. it takes desire to stop any Addiction. If you have desire that's the first step.

Here is what I suggest to get you over the worst part of the withdrawals.

The following treatment will help you not go through such agony as you withdraw from the medication.

To help with the withdrawals take hot bathes with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. The skin is the biggest organ of elimination and this will help pull out the drugs. Use a loofa to clean the pores and this will help pull the drugs out even faster.

Drink lots of water and 2c. a day of fresh carrot juice, to flush the medicine out of your liver. You can take 500mg of calcium and magnesium twice a day to help you relax. Drink chamomile tea throughout the day and evening to help you stay relaxed.

Use a powdered fiber supplement twice daily to pull the drugs out of your intestines where they can store.

Two of the questionnaires in this forum did follow this program to withdraw from drugs and it did help. I've enclosed a link where you can read his response to this program.

If you have any further questions please let me know,

I was addicted for 6 years, I found it really difficult to quit as i was suffering from depression and smoking was my only coping mechanism. Maybe you should go to your doctor to see if you have any underlying problems that need to get sorted. I found that being around people who not only didn't smoke but hated the drug was the way to go, you have less time to do it and feel like you a letting people down when you do. I haven't smoked for a year and i can see now that if it wasn't the cause of my depression it certainly made it worse!

I used to smoke it, but gave it up when it wasn't fun anymore. I started getting paranoid and anxious. It's really not that hard to quit, but you have to really want to quit. Do you really want to quit? If so, just do it right now. Take what you have and flush it. Destroy all your papers, pipes and bongs. Clean whatever smells like it so you don't get triggered by that. Call you connections and tell them you have to quit and not to sell to you. Your real friends will understand and support you, even if they are smokers. Others may try to talk you out of it, but those are the ones you should steer clear of. Throw away their numbers, and change your number if you have to.

Be prepared to be irritable and grouchy for a couple of weeks. After that, you will feel very clear minded and good. You will have increased energy. You might have cravings, but you need to learn how to cope with them. Change up your routine and pick a replacement habit, a healthy one. Call up your non-smoking friends and make plans with them. Stay away from people, places and things that may tempt you to smoke.

Remind yourself it is illegal and you are risking jail and big fines each time you are involved with it. Nobody wants that.

You should think about why you feel the need to escape from reality. There's usually a reason. If you can figure out what that reason is, you can work on fixing it. It may be something as simple a boredom, or it could be much deeper than that. You could go to counseling or join a support group, it can't hurt. Online support is also available if that would be better for you.

You can do this, just go do it now and don't look back. Flush your stash and get on with your life. I think you will like it better, not going through life in a fog, I know I do. Best wishes.

I feel ya homie!!!! I start and stop and start again and recently I told myself I was gonna stop all together!! It is a very hard thing to do but you have to just keep telling yourself over and over again that you don't need it. It stinks up your clothing, makes your lips dark, damages your lungs, kills ur brain cells and all for what?!??! So that you can get hungry and eat up all the dang snacks!!! We don't need it, as of right now just look at yourself and make the decision to stop. No one else can make you, you will have to have the strength and the will to do it on your own. When you start to think about rolling one up, think of something else to do. Throw away all of your lighters and any paraphernalia. You will be less tempted if you don't have those things around. And you are gonna HAVE to stop hanging with those people that toke with u cuz it will break you down.....at least until you get a mental grip on not smoking. GOOD LUCK...Hopefully we can make the journey together!!!

I never heard of anyone being addicted to marijuana. I smoked it for 6 years and had no trouble quitting when I went into the military.

I dont wanna stop smoking so I dont...but I did quit for a 1 1/2 years with no problem. Its not an addictive drug, it is more of a mental addiction

Of COURSE you can be addicted to marijuana. Any time you constantly use a substance to numb yourself--especially an illegal substance--and you keep saying "no more" and yet you just keep right on doing it, you are addicted.

Try going to NA. You will meet MANY people who have been right where you are now and they can tell you how NOT to light up.

marijuana is mentally addictive and if you smoke everyday it becomes habit forming. Breaking a habit is the struggle you are up against.
