statistically there is no difference, I would use the lucky dip though.... for a very good reason....
Imagine you have forgotten to do the lottery one week, or one wednesday... sods law your numbers will come up!!!!
Something like that would just annoy the hell out of me for years!!
With lucky dip that can't happen, and there is the same chance of you winning.......

in reply to bo b - above - there have been several lucky dip winners and, statistically, there is not any difference between picking the numbers yourself, or using random generated ones (lucky dips)

If you repeat those numbers to yourself all the time. I mean, you really have to be those number, then chances are they'll manifest themselves sooner or later.
