Because this is the part of their recollection that moves from memory to imagination. You will see this allot with UFO sightings. Many people will be at the same event, but will have differing stories about what they saw. The reason for this is that the reality of what happened gets muddled by imagination over time.
The Gospels were written between 60-90 years after the event, so that means there have been years of imagination and misrecallation that have taken place before the story was documented.
The fact that none of them recognized Jesus on the road to Damascus after his Resurrection is an indication that it wasn't him.

Ask yourself this question. Would four people who witness an accident (all from different angles) have the same exact account? No they would not. Why? Because all 4 would see things from a different angle from a different perspective.Their accounts will be similar (just as Matthew Mark, Luke and John's were all similar) Out of the 4 Apostles you mentioned only 2 were the Apostles of Christ and were witnesses of Jesus's life and Crucifixion and Resurrection.. Matthew and John. Luke and Mark were disciples of Peter;s.

Any police detective or reporter will tell you that when all witnesses to a crime agree 100 percent, then they are framing, or staging an event.
Under atheistic communism, Russia had a public display belittling Christianity--they said the miracles could be explained by natural science.
But they acknowledged that those events really happened because of the inconsistiencies of witnesses.
Yes, those disciples were individuals, and saw and described from their perspective, and that is why He chose more than one person to be: "Ye are my witnesses."
He also left a Bible code to correct errors in theology--and it is the only part of the Bible "closed until the end of the days."

Meaty,
Their accounts do not disagree. You may be misreading them. There are things included in one that may be left from another. This happens no matter who writes an account. If there are four eyewitnesses at an accident generally there are four very different stories to account for. It is seen thru the eye of who has seen it. Have a great day.
Thanks,

I have read the gospels and I was unaware of disagreements in any of the accounts about the Crucifixion of Christ.
Could you point them out for us or are you just parroting some defamation you heard from a non believer or a teacher?

Some were not there. And remember when Jesus cried out to God people thought He was calling Elijah. Also, on the road to Damascus when the ppl heard the vioce, one man didn't hear it, so his account was that no one heard it, and then another man heard it, so his account was that everyone heard it.
ppl can look at the same car wreck and have to different stories

If you take four different people and have each give an account of an event or a person, you`ll come up with 4 different descriptions. If they were all exactly the same, wouldnt that be a little fishy?

That's easy, they didn't have very good communications in those early days.
Someone hadn't invented the postal service and it was left to the camel drivers to transport messages.
Then again I don't think they ever really got on, if you can read between the parables of their interpretation of what Jesus is said to have said.
Another is they weren't very good at plaguing someones else documented works of literature.
The printing press was not thought of either.

Because there is no physical evidence and no first-hand accounts of anyone who might have been there. Even the records of Pontius Pilate fail to make mention of either Jesus or his alleged crucifixion.
There is not a single contemporary account dating to the time Jesus would have lived. There is no description of what he might have looked like and not a single word he may have said is preserved by anyone who could have been there when he said it.

firstly they werent all there during the crucifixion nor the resurrection...secondly each gives the account given to the by God... they do not need to be alike perhaps God is trying to portray certain things thru each one.. .thirdly, what differences do you see? Im looking at them now and I dont see it...in this particular instance
