Genesis chapter 1 verse 29;And God said,Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree,in which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed;to you it shall be as meat.
My question is why then do christians so despise those who smoke cannabis and take cocaine if thier God put it there for man?
No silly answeres please, just explain yourselves

Now listen here, YE CRACKHEAD! You cannot lie to THE VICAR! I have seen the subtext in your question - you seek approval for your SHAMEFUL SINNING WAYS!!! REPENT NOW!!!
We Christians like to smoke, and smoke green! Just keep quiet about it to keep up that air of respectability...just like all the other shifty buisiness we get up to behind closed doors!
- the VICAR.

In the verse you quoted, God was telling Adam & Eve they could *eat for food* whatever plants they chose (he then went on to tell them the consequences of eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil).
When Noah's family exited the Ark, God modified the dietary plan (Genesis 9:3-4) to include all animal flesh, provided the carcass was bled out.
Later (in the eleventh chapter of Leviticus), God gave kashruth, or the law of clean and unclean beasts.
In the thirteenth chapter of his Epistle to the Romans, Paul made it clear that every Christian is to obey the law of the land.
So, then -- Christians have two possible reasons for disapproving of marijuana and cocaine abuse:
1. People who smoke marijuana or snort cocaine are not eating the stuff, nor are those who eat it eating it for food.
2. If the law proscribes marijuana or cocaine use, those who use it are criminals.

Because smoking pot and snorting cocaine are not meat and are harmful if used in correctly. Cocaine used to be used as an anesthetic for certain types of surgery, pot has been used as a pain medication, when used correctly. But to just sit back and to smoke a bowl to get high or snort a few lines to get high, that is using it wrong.

God gives us “life and breath.” (Acts 17:25) Imagine how he feels when you misuse that gift! The apostle Paul thus wrote: “Therefore, since we have these promises [of having an approved relationship with God], beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God’s fear.” (2Â Corinthians 7:1) Smoking does more than simply defile the flesh, polluting one’s body with noxious chemicals; it also defiles one’s spirit, or dominant mental force.
Same goes for drugs.

2 Cor. 7:1: “Since we have these promises [of having Jehovah as our God and our Father], beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in God’s fear.” (But can we expect to have God’s approval if we deliberately do things that defile our bodies?)
Titus 2:11, 12: “The undeserved kindness of God which brings salvation to all sorts of men has been manifested, instructing us to repudiate ungodliness and worldly desires and to live with soundness of mind [“be self-restrained,” JB; ‘to live self-controlled lives,’ TEV] and righteousness and godly devotion amid this present system of things.” (Is the use of drugs that impair one’s judgment or that cause a person to lose self-control in harmony with that counsel?)
Gal. 5:19-21: “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are . . . practice of spiritism, . . . revelries, and things like these. . . . Those who practice such things will not inherit God’s kingdom.” (The literal meaning of the Greek word phar·ma·ki′a, here rendered “practice of spiritism,” is “druggery.” An Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, by W. E. Vine, in commenting on this Greek word, says: “In sorcery, the use of drugs, whether simple or potent, was generally accompanied by incantations and appeals to occult powers, with the provision of various charms, amulets, etc., professedly designed to keep the applicant or patient from the attention and power of demons, but actually to impress the applicant with the mysterious resources and powers of the sorcerer.” [London, 1940, Vol. IV, pp. 51, 52] Similarly today, many who use drugs are involved in spiritistic practices or associate with those who are, because a blank mind or one that experiences hallucinations is easy prey to the demons. Compare Luke 11:24-26.)
