To believe in Christianity is to renounce all other teachings and effectively state that other ways of living are WRONG. If you do not believe this then you are not a true believer! What do you say to that?

- the VICAR.

You are correct when you say to believe Christianity is Right then the others are wrong. Those that believe that all religions are right if it's right for them are ignorant. They can't be. Real Truth is not a matter of opinion. Truth is Truth. So you can't believe in them all as truth. A white car is either a white car or not. Someone can say it's green, that doesn't make it green. If each religion has a different way to heaven then they can't all be right. therefore only one can be the full truth. Everyone has the right to believe that whatever one they choose is the truth. However that doesn't make them right. At the end the Truth will be revealed. We can't water down our beliefs for the sake of tolerance.

So yes I believe Christianity is the one true religion. That means I believe all others are based on lies. I also believe we shouldn't force that belief on others. I have more respect for someone who believes a different religion is the one true one, than someone who believes all religions lead to heaven.

Why I do I believe that Christianity is the one true religion? Well there is not enough space here. But the book "Mere Christianity" By C.S. Lewis will explain very well. It starts from why believe in a God in the first place. It's a logical book, not spiritual. It works off of facts more than faith. Read it then ask the question

Direct questions are difficult for people to answer.

If you ask that question less directly the answer you get would effectively be all other religions are wrong, but it'll be interesting to see if many will answer 'Yes' to this direct question.

The muslims think the same thing so there's a bit of a conflict there somewhere.

At least you haven't come in a guise.

I do not think that 'christianity' is the one true religion.
How can it be? All the different denominations of 'christianity' do not agree on their beliefs and some even go so far as to start fighting each other.
So I guess I am not a true believer in 'christianity'. I actually think ti is comical that anyone would accept it.
This is not to say that I do not believe in Jesus Christ though. I do believein Him, and I worship Him.

Yes, it is wrong to have any other religion other than Christian. God COMMANDED us to have "no other gods before him," and that goes for everyone. Check it out---God is always there when you need him, he sent the only son he had to die for us on an old rugged cross so that we could have a way to heaven, and he's the only one who has promised us a home with him in Heaven if we accept him as Lord and Savior. :) Plus, he promised that if we kept him first in every part of our life, the things he wanted us to have would follow in his time. God always answers prayer, too. Of course, it may be "no, that's not good for you", but that's his answer. It's just like our mom telling us no when we ask her for ice cream before dinner...she gave you an answer. Yes, I believe that Christianity is the only true religion. I'm a Christian and I love waking up every morning knowing that God is still going to watch over me know matter what I may face in my day ahead. I can go to him in prayer anytime I need to, and I know God will take care of my needs that he knows is necessary for me. Plus, I can spend as much time in prayer with Him as I need to until all my burdens are off of my heart, and I receive his peace each time I lay a burden down and let God take care of it!!! :)

I think the statement "if you do not believe, then you are not a true believer " is redundent. It is like saying "if you are not a tree then you are not a true tree"... well, of course.
I think that renouncing all other teachings refers to not believing in that for yourself. To believe everything else is WRONG would be very frustrating and lonely.
I believe this is the big flaw in most fundamental absolutist religion. I think this is their biggest weakness and hypocracy.

I will probably get flamed for this but it doesent stop it being true.

You are right. Jesus tought that there is a narrow and cramped road leading off into life and a broad spacious road leading off into destruction.

Not all christains are right. Hell the vast majority of religeon is wrong. The only ones that will be saved are those who live their lives according to what the bible teaches and do their best to follow in the footsteps of jesus.

As a Christian don't tell people their teachings
and way of living is wrong.
Tell them tell what the Word of God says,
and what the teachings of Jesus Christ are.

They will become more knowing of God
and why He sent His Son to Us.
They may become aware of their wrongs,
and repent of their Sins, accepting Jesus Christ
as their Savior.
All won't, but many will.
As Christians we open our arms to All
to give All a chance.

I'm a Christian (Unificationist) and I disagree. I do believe that Christianity is the central way and the best way to get close to God's heart. (Otherwise I wouldn't be a Christian!)

But I also believe that God is ubiquitous and works in every faith, and even in unusual ways to reach all His children. He even speaks to us through movies ("If you build it, He will come") and music ("Have I told you lately, how much I love you?").

God can even connect with Treckkies and Jeddis. My God can reach out and touch anyone, anywhere!

if you truly believe, then within yourself you'll obviously believe others are wrong about their beliefs - but jesus made some points about loving thy neighbour - so whether you believe the same as someone else, if you're a christian i guess you've got to love them whatever.

besides, in this 21st century of ours, if you fight them you'll probably be done for inciting religious hatred - so lets all get along!

i personally don't believe in any religion, and as none can be proven, i don't think it's worth fighting about

Christianity or Jesus?
Jesus is the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through Him.
Religion is not what will give you eternal happiness and satisfaction; only Jesus will.
