The entire panel around the radio, climate controls, instrument cluster, etc. has to be removed, but it's easier than it sounds. First the knee panel under the steering column needs to be dropped, so it doesn't cover the bottom of the dash bezel. Remove the screws at the bottom of the knee panel, then you can pull it away and lower it.

The large dash panel is only held on with pressure clips. Just carefully pull around the outside edge of the panel to release the clips one at a time. It's not unusual for the clips to come off the panel while you're removing it, but they push back on; just be sure to collect them before you replace the panel later. You'll have to unplug the fog light switch up on the corner of the dash before you can remove the panel completely.

After the panel comes off, the factory radio is held in place with two screws.

If you have an FM antenna that's built into the rear glass, then be sure to hook up the power antenna wire in your adapting harness if you're replacing the deck. There's an antenna amplifier built into the vehicle that is switched on through the power antenna wire.
