It seems to be a "premium" stereo for a lot of GM cars...but how does it sound? Thanks

Monsoon in a GM usually involves a separate amplifier and dedicated bass speakers. They'll tend to have more bass than a typical stock system, and they play louder. Most stock premium systems don't use better speakers than standard systems; they just add more speakers and more power. They're a step up from the standard audio package but don't really compare to a well-designed after-market system.

You can get aftermarket speakers for good prices that are a lot better than monsoon. But remember, it depends on what you want, if you have subwoofers that is going to change the type of speakers, you want them to be able to handle the bass. Make sure also that your headunit can handle the amp wattage of the speakers.

it sounds better then most stock systems, but its nothing to brag about. also it makes it a b*tch to go aftermarket with it.

good luck
