Why do Evangelical Protestants with all their emotionalism claim that Catholics do not think for themselves and the Christian Pope does all their thinking for them, yet all I ever experience when at an Evangelical meeting is the pastor crying out "can I get an, Amen?" and all the congregation screaming back "Amen!" without even taking time to think on his suggestions, pray about it and study it to see if his instruction is correct? Sounds to me like the pot calling the kettle black don't you agree, I mean can I get an, Amen ? :D

Amen, brother!

I think the biggest problem, especially with the charismatic evengelicals, is that they want to get caught up in the emotional *feeling* of religion. The problem is, that feelings are human, and are fallible. God forbid that you go to church on a day when you're feeling depressed.

"Can I get an Amen?"

I do believe that you're on to something here. Besides, I know a lot of Catholics who don't agree with the pope (even though technically they could be excommunicated for such a thing unless they recant) on many issues. I don't think the Catholics really allow the pope to do all their thinking for them.

It is a lie that most of them enjoy believing because it makes them 'feel' superior to Catholics. They adhere to the belief that most catholics rely on the priest of pope for biblical interpretation, which is partially true. But they ignore the fact that the reason there are soooo many protestant denominations, is because there are millions of undereducated people reading the Bible and developing contraditory theology and doctrine. Some have even gone as far as to create their own prophets to justify non biblical teaching.

The truth is that the bible is too difficult to decipher, because it is just a bunch of religious theory written by many different men. Therefore it tends to contradict itself and makes defining a single truth or doctrine impossible.

It is hard to believe an all powerful God would leave such a difficult book of instructions behind.

At least we don't pray to idols when we seek confirmation from God.
