I've had the dark circles pretty much all my life. I am of Indian descent and the rest of my skin tone is very light so my circles appear more dark and it goes pretty much around my entire eye. They get worse when I do not get enough sleep. I also wear contacts and work in front of the computer 8 hours a day. I know I'll never get rid of them completely, but I want to know what I can do to minimize them. Also what type of vitamins/foods should I be getting to maintain healthy eyes. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Of course you can do someting actually, more than one thing, any way you have to get into the idea of spend some money... not much though. First try with the blue gel bags that you put in the refrigerator and then you putt it in to your eyes every morning for at lest 5-10 min... you should get a specific product for the eyes, and i don't mean make up, it's like a gel of eye contour, that will hydrate and clear that area making the dark shadows and bags reduce a lot, since the first application and reducing more and more gradually (if you get a nice branch like pevonia (which have specific eye contour product for man or the regular one it's also OK) phytomer, lancaster or like that, better ... they give best results) other wise you can gel an aloe vera gel put It at the refrigerator and apply it in the morning after the blue gel bags i just mention... at night you can try getting Vitamin E jell caps, open them and put it around the eyes (actually it would be good for all your face)

Oh! and that about getting more sleep, not drinking, smoking, getting better habits for food... It's true

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Obviously we can't stress rest. 8 + hours
But you could need more iron in your diet. This causes the circles too - and it is also genetic - so try adding more iron if you don't eat red meat or green leafy veggies take a supplement + iron.

I also use an eye cream that has mulberry extract and
licorice and it's really helped me -

Well i am a young girl i should know all about this stuff, right? Well there is basically nothing you can do. all this TV ads talking about how they can make them go away, WRONG!!! That's just how your body is, for an example can you make your birth mark go away? NO!! Its all crazy talk it's outrageous. to cool down your eyes and keep them from swelling or much more irritated try putting something cold over your eyes. like these ice mask that you put over your eyes. it'll help your eyes from getting much darker circles than it already does.

Take a fresh potato and slice it two pieces.Wash your faces by light warm water and put these potato pieces on both of your eyes for 15 minutes lying on the bed.Give up your bad habits(like drinking, smoking or late night hobbies) if any. Try to sleep atleast six hours calmly at night after reading any of your choice books at bed.Within a month you will notice a change.

it's hard to say. is the dark eyes a part of you or is it just from being overtired? or, is it a health problem? if it's a health problem, go see your doctor. if you're overtired, catch up on your sleep. if it's just you, go see a skin specialist or talk to your doctor.

Take dairy and wheat out of your diet for two full weeks, by the end of the two weeks you should see a significant improvement-then you will know if you have a food-sensitive reaction
