1) Whatever damage you could imagine, the Dust Bowl caused. Crop damage and respiratory disease for example

2) Proper Irrigation to prevent the land from drying out too much, and the planting of trees around farm land to reduce the amount of wind.

1.) It impacted people across the US by making it impossible to grow crops. (The layer of topsoil was completely lost). With food not able to grow, people were forced to move to areas where they could survive. Farmers could not earn a living and lost a lot of money due to the lost crops.

2.) By rotating the crops every year or few years, we can ensure that the soil doesn't get depeleted of nutrients and so infertile that there is a repeat. Also, pastures for livestock are rotated so grass will have more time to grow. Desertification was one of the biggest roles in the dust bowl By preventing desertification, another Dust bowl is less likely to occur.
