Although most small insect bites are relatively harmless, (other than mild inflammation and irritation) keep an eye on it. If the swelling continues, or a rash developes, then have it checked by a doctor. Insects such as mosquitoes, have the ability to transmit blood-borne pathogens. I have learned this first hand when I contracted viral encephalitis (an early form of the "west nile virus") as a child.

Don't freak out over it, but watch for excessive swelling, streaking, puss blisters, or discoloration. If you get too concerned, go to a doctor.

I don't know of any flying insects that can be dangerous with a single sting, unless yu are alergic to that particular insect. If you were though you would have already gone to the hospital, so don't worry about it.

a lot of insects come out at night because they're attracted to the light. this doesn't make them more dangerous at night though. use an insect repellant when outdoors at night. if u in an area with a lot of mozzies, wear it in the day too

Day time night time there is no difference. The only reason why you notice them more at night is that they normally come out at night to hunt but there are still around through the day.
How's this one:-
Man eating shark.
Man eating lion.
Man eating burger?
