Kodak tends to set the default sharpness and saturation levels very high. This produces pictures that practically jump off the screen. I find that look very pleasing... albeit unrealistic. Compared to the settings on my Nikon dSLR, the Kodak pictures look like cartoons.
The same look can be achieved with other brands too - either by adjusting the camera settings or by running the files through an image editor - whichever method you prefer.

I agree with the comment above - the Kodak point and shoot cameras produce nice rather than accurate pictures. But then most people want "nice".

depends (we're talking film?)-if you are looking for nice warm colours, kodak is very good as it favours warm colours, so subjects such as portraits look better. fuji favours cooler colours and many claim it is not as grainy as kodak. agfa is good i've heard, but for processing, i was less than impressed. avoid 3m.
