have a bad camchain rattle have replaced tensioner,camchain,new inlet camshaft,all new lifters still got rattle any ideas are appreciated .When canged tensioner rattle wasnt there on start up left running for awile all was good turned it of went up and crowed how good i was started it up and the rattle was there again worse than ever gggggrrrrrrrr

might sound like a stupid question, but did you put the tensioner on the right way?if you put them on upside down the slider can beak off. take the valve cover off and have a look down at the tensioner. could also be an oil flow problem to the tensioner..

The tensioner must be released. Did you replace the rails too? Some times oil pressure or lack of it will make the top end of those motors noisey. And more questions why would you replace only one camshaft? How many miles does the engine have on it? Valve clearences can be tricky forked rocker arms require special attention.
