it may not be a basic need. u dont need to do it or think about it every single minute.it is an important factor in a relationship but it is not the only thing which keeps the relationship alive. understanding,caring,loving and trust is the most important thing. sex is just a 10-30mins fun but life is not for 30 mins. we need to realise the importance of other things nd live happily.

Yes it is, between the ages - 20 - 40 after that you dont think about it.
Look at it from a holistic angle you will not die if you dont screw...so its NOT a Basic need and if it was a Basic need, you must be pumping right from the minute you are born!

its a sexual desire yes. once u have matured hormonally the urge to have sex comes.
its part of human nature (if there isn't any disturbances within the growing up stage that is)
basic need:. . .well, sex makes u feel desired, like a women, like a man, I've heard many women say that once the sex has died they felt less, like their body isn't being used for its natural cause. like if u unable to have children...u feel less than what u are sometimes.. .so yes its a basic need

Yes I totally think it is. Unlike animals we were given the equipment to really enjoy our sexual encounters. Our sensitivity was put there for a reason why deny something that feels so good
Healthy body equals healthy mind. Sex isnt just intamcy. Its exercise, pleasure and a great self esteem boost.
Theres nothing quite like that after orgasm smile to make you feel happy for the rest of the day.

Yes because it is the most relaxing practice and after sex we feel very contended. Also, you may experience that when you are very angry, having sex takes away all the anger. Also, our emotions are also controlled through sex. So to succeed in life, you must be relaxed and easy all the time to catch the opportunities.

Nope. One can concievably live without it. Sex isn't a need as say food, clothing, shelter, nor water. However, studies have concluded that lack of love, marriage and sex can shorten ones lifespan for men.

i myself have stayed without food for 8 days i know people who stay without shelter and clothing these people. in jaini9sm it is said that one who wins its basic need can win the world

I think so. I don't know how priest do it or at least claim to do it. I think it is a basic as food, air and water.
