Jdandcoke...Wow, I didn't realize Australia was that strict about diets. Probably a step in the right direction but geez what a pain that would be!

We're a family of two adults, and we spend about $325 average a month. But we're both cooks, and don't indulge in convenience foods often. So everything is from scratch. It adds up, but we try to watch sales and use coupons.

This month we're doing really good, only $250 so far.

It varies.. Most months we will spend roughly $1400 (Australian dollars). Thats for 2 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs. Its our milk bill thats generally quite high though.. roughly $60 per week. Its getting quite hard shopping for things to put in school lunchboxes. They are really cracking down over here on what you can and cant put in your kids lunches. At the daycare centres they have a 'no nut' policy, so anything that has nuts in it, or is made with nut products, they cant have it, as alot of kids are allergic to nuts. They cant (or aren't supposed to) take lollies, cake, chips, or anything with chocolate in it.. Talk about making it hard when most kids go through the phase of not liking fruit or vegetables!

In my family we're six, seven when my son visits (he's in the states now) and or my husband's mother comes from syria; oh I would say on an average of two grand on both the health and the convenience foods such as the chips and stuff..

over this side of the universe, we eat out a lot, so not that much spent on groceries. But total food bill for 2 of us is around $360-420 (incl. health/food supplements)

My family of 2 spends generally $100USD on food a month. We generally buy health style foods, although we do buy Ramen noodles and Hot Pockets every now and again. $100 usually lasts us the whole month, if not a month and a half.
