my new born son was born on the 7th month of pregnancy and suffering from Retinopathy of Prematurity stage IV. A surgery was performed for his left eye but unfortunately it did not succeed. The specialist who conducted the operation said that there was nothing they could do for the left eye anymorewith the current technology that we have in our country. The right eye on the other hand needs a miracle to be able to see. I don't want to son to grow up blind. I want to live a normal life. Is there anyone who can help me contact an eye specialist in the US or Europe so I can ask for their opinion? My family is very poor but I could not let poverty stand on the way of my son's future. Can anyone please help me out here so my son can see the world and live a normal life. Thanks in advance....

yeah blind people are normal but thats not my point. As long as I know I can do something fro my son to see the world around literally i would not accept his present condition. Its always easy to say this and that, as long as you are alive crap but if you become a parent you will always want everything for your child. And I want my son to see what other can to be able to watch TV, play videogames and around around the park playing tag. Any parent would know what I mean. I would do anything for my family I just need a little help so please answer with something that could help my sons condition not wisdom...

I'm sorry I don't have the answers you are looking for. What I can tell you is that there is a whole new world available to those who are blind. Technology has made it possible for the blind to have a much better life than most people realize. Please don't see your child as less than normal. Do not put that idea into their head. Normal life? I have many blind friends who live more than a normal life, better life than I live. Nothing wrong with being blind, as long as you are alive!
