Vatican Lawsuit Liability exceeds $1 billion in USA Courts

The Vatican, which has long claimed immunity to lawsuits, is now facing claimants seeking more than $1 billion.

Insurance commissioners from Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Okalahoma, and Arkansas have joined Holocaust victims and victims of pedophile priests in filing lawsuits against the Vatican and Vatican Bank. The Insurance commissioners are seeking over $600 million in a RICO (Anti Racketeering) lawsuit that has named several top Cardinals including two former Papal Nuncios to the United States and the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Sodano, as co-conspirators with convicted financier Martin Frankel in an unsuccessful attempt to launder an incredible $150 billion in insurance assets.

Frankel who has plead guilty to 20 counts of wire fraud and one count each of securities fraud, racketeering, racketeering conspiracy and a forfeiture charge has been cooperating with the government in retrieving $200 million in missing insurance assets. Frankel faces 150 years in prison and will be sentenced next year.

I wouldn't worry about the Catholics. What about all those American evangelists we get on early morning television. Send money, send money, send money, hallelujah, praise the lord! is their message. They are detestable.

Farsight is uninformed. The financial business enterprise is the "Institute for religious Works" (so the Vatican curiously defines, narcotics, prostitution, kidnapping, extortion, homicide for hire and toddler pornography as "religious works."). it somewhat is thoroughly owned and operated with the aid of the Vatican. The Italians are waiting to check out it as a foreign places financial business enterprise of the Papal State working on Italian soil so it has no immunity under Italian regulation. This became into all in the AP article in the present day. this is likewise not the 1st time. The Vatican has been caught laundering money for the Mafia each and every few years on the grounds that WWII (while they laundered money stolen from Jews for the Nazis), which basically proves that that the Vatican is often better at hiding their offender firms, and in this digital age it somewhat is starting to be further and extra complicated for them to conceal all the corruption and perversion that has constantly been component to the Roman Church and is often section and parcel of any business enterprise claiming divine perogatives.

US courts have no power at all over the Vatican. The Vatican is a sovereign State.

I believe that if they are guilty they should take responsibility and pay up. There are already hundreds of lawsuits in America due to priests that can't keep their hands and who-haas off of children. Just because people claim to be messengers of God doesn't make them immune to crime and punishment. NOT EVEN THE POPE SHOULD BE SAFE...this is essentially what I find wrong with religion. Too much hypocracy and over-inflated egos and blind faith including the abuse of that faith. What the Vatican claims now really says alot...

not sure where you are getting your statistics, are they from a partial or impartial source? secondly if this and the other questions you posted are verified they will be rectified appropiately by the church, just as ex pope john paul apologised for the mistakes of the past in his papcay reign and lifetime, may he rest in christs peace. would you like to include just how much the roman catholic church donates to charity and what the church provides on a world wide basis daily? or are you simply picking and choosing isolated topics to bring down the church christ gave us all? did you include that the catholic church is responsible for the set up of most charities and hospitals to cater for those in need, prior to any such institution being founded? if what you say is true and found to be true in a court of law then the church is at fault, but that doesn't negate the truth of the church regarding the truths about god and of faith. it is a scandal, look around all the churches and tell me if you come across a scandal in one if not all the churches you look at . i trust in the church god gave us. the mistakes of men are of men. the truths of the church regarding the church are the truths of god and of faith. god bless.
