Let me ask a different kind of question here. There isn't a doubt in my mind that so many Christians along with other faiths can be hateful, mean, and vicious when it comes to their beliefs and religion, but why is the blame always shifted towards God? It is taught in all religions that He is merciful, all-loving, and created each and every one of us with His love, and why should he be blamed for all the sick extremist banner carriers out there who claim God hates certain people and only saves individuals under their beliefs only (ala Jehovah's Witnesses, some Evangelicals and extreme Christian groups..)? It is them who make God look bad, God didn't personally come down and dis everybody, so why shift the hate towards Him when it isn't His fault for what some HUMANS do?

So many people turn away from God because of other people, but God hasn't turned his back on ANY of us. He doesn't see religion as people make him out to be, he just sees his creations.
Of course, this question obviously isn't geared towards atheists and this is from my beliefs/opinions, but all are free to answer, just please keep rude answers to yourself and if you feel the need to post something nasty get your two points somewhere else.

People equate religion and God in the same word, but such is not always the case. Imagine you had several children who each made you a gift for your birthday and all was well until they went outside and started fighting over whose gift is better. See the concept with religion? But what do most parents feel? Their children are their gift that's what! Put it that way!

I'm actually a spiritualist, not some devout Christian, I just maintain my belief in God, was raised Catholic, and learned to think for myself. Does that help?

Because they don't understand his love, they don't understand his compassion. People hate and fear what they don't know it is a way of justification to their live
however my prayer is that they find him quickly

God shouldn't be hated by anyone. I can't fathom to wonder when someone says they hate the Lord if deep down inside they feel a bit of guilt saying such. Many Christians get so involved that they forget the true meaning of the Lord's words. Many people has told people on here that hell awaits them, but who are the Christians to judge a persons fate. There is only one judge, our Lord and savior! The sad thing is he will continue to love disbelievers and the ignorant people who curse his name and repeatedly mock his existence!

hatred towards god because he is a Phyco. Who in there right mind could condemn someone for eternity just because they wont follow HIS rules. I mean humans show more compassion then your so called god.
This so called god as been the reason behind some of the most unspeakable crimes ever. Older religions were worshipped side by side... the roman gods were worshipped next to the Egyptian gods. BUT Your god condemns all other religions.....
The bible doesn't say there isn't any other gods it just mentions that you god wont tolerate the worship of any other god.
Your god is an ***-hole plan and sI'mple.... even though he is such a dick im sure no one would condemn him to an eternity of suffering. although that jerk should be the one to suffer in hell.

It is satan's job 2 get people 2 reject God. Even though it may be frustrating for those who love God 2 see others hating him, u must remember that this is expected as man has free will & can be manipulated by satan. Even in bibical times when God was closer to man & interacted with us, many people rejected him. Jesus, the Son of God, walked the earth & he was rejected by many even though he was close enough to be touched. In fact the people even killed him.
Even his closest friend, Peter, denied him 3 times.
My point is that all this hate towards God is expected & even predicted about in the bible.

As long as 'religions' ask you to 'fear God", God will be an object of hate
The minute you realise that God has no likes and dislikes but just Bliss, You will love God.
Have you ever liked or loved an objected you fear, weary of?
From a human's point of view, God can not be different.

Maybe some people have turned their back on God, if you do certain things, which are not beneficial to mankind in general, then you reap the consequences. In other words you reap what you sow. If you lust, you reap lust, if you love money, you will do anything to gain same. If you hate your neighbour, you arent going to reap his friendship. Cause and effect

And when did God speak to you about this?
Before you start trying to fill some pretty big shoes for his appointed messengers, how about some essential reading!:

I think you'll find less people hate God than have had enough of organized criminal groups claiming to be religious but who have held back humanity for centuries.

Give it a break my religious friend. I am so tired of men willing to speak on Gods behalf. If God wants my unconditional love at least he should have to common sense to let me know in a way I can understand. So far only men have been able to speak for God and they are doing a bad job of it just like this post.

i don't hate god, but i refuse to believe the outlandish claims Christians try to portray as history. i take the bible in a non literal way. its a book written by man and therefore has flaws.
