If you want to go the natural way go to any health food store and get Alfalfa Capsules and Yucca Capsules open one of each and sprinkle it in your dog's food. You should see a difference in about 3 days. I gave this to my 15 year old Sheltie and in 2 to 3 day she running up the stairs. My friend gave this to his German Shepherd and couldn't believe the difference in his dog in days. It was a vet that first told me to try this, about 8 years ago. It was discovered with a horse who had Arthritis and the horse was given Yucca and it worked. Then it was used on other animals and it didn't work so a vet said try mixing it with Alfalfa since that is a regular diet for horses. Once that was added for other animals, it then worked. I could go on and on about how many people as well as four legged animals it's has helped without taking hash drugs. I like to go the natural way first if that doesn't work then go for the drugs.

Presumably you've seen the vet about this?
Arthritis is a common condition, and vets have everything you need to manage it. They commonly put dogs on an anti-inflammatories - the favourite is Rimadyl, the 'wonder drug' that is suitable for long-term everyday use. They can also advise you on supplements and perhaps even a special diet.
Please don't start giving your dog 'home remedies' suggested on here, it could be dangerous! See your vet.

Glycosamine has been proven to help many dogs with arthritis. Ginger (tablets or fresh) can also be used as a natural remedy, I'm not sure about the dosage, though, you'll have to ask your vet or look it up.

Have you tried Glycosamine? They say it's supposed to help with the joints.
You can buy pet-specific Glycosamine at your local pet store. My vet actually said it's okay to give my dog half a tablet of the human version- it's the same thing. Depending on your dog's size, you may want to consult/confirm with a vet what amount to give.
