We can first get more energy efficient and environmentally friendly automobiles. We can replace the diesal trucks with hybrid, electic, or biofuel cars. We can stop mowing the lawns so much and get lawn mowers that pollute less (that means replacing old lawn mowers from 20 years ago with he ones today that are much more energy efficient and pollute less.)
People can stop using aerosols to clean or spray paint. Some aerosols do have a symbol that says that they are environmentally safe- use those instead of ones that do not.
Instead of using coal and other non-renewable resources, energy can be derived from wind turbines and water power. It might be more costly, but they are both renewable resources and provide endless amounts of power.
People can start walking, carpooling, or riding bikes to work instead of driving. It is unecessar to drive somewhere that is only a few blocks away. Not only will it be good for the environment, but it will be a good source of exercise.
People can start recycling plastic, glass, paper, cardboard, and aluminum instead of throwing them in the trash. Landfills have a high percentage of items that can be recycled or composted (food). These landfills give off large amounts of methane, which is a greenhouse gas. If the amount of things being sent to the landfill was lowered, it would be possible for less methane to be produced.
We can also learn to conserve energy. We can replace light bulbs in our house with more efficient fluorescent bulbs. People can turn off lights, heaters, air conditioners, fans, and tv's when they leave the house so that electricity is not wasted. Instead of using gas stoves, they can be replaced with electric stoves.

Well I recycle as much as I can, save energy and therefore money, and walk instead of driving sometimes for exercise. And I feel great. But that's where it stops, because anything more to combat global warming would go against my beliefs. See...as much as I've changed, I still can't accept g/w as real. I guess I gotta have some proof. So far there is none. When the world actually begins to heat up someplace...anyplace at all (and it hasn't) - because of global warming then I'll start believing.

Since the cause of global warming has its roots in the Industrial revolution when coal began to be used as a fuel to build up the infrastructure of Europe, all of industrialized civilization would have to shift to a non fossil fuel based economy. So GW cannot be stopped by a mere grassroots movement to be "more efficient" in energy consumption, thats just another way of saying "slow the rate at which the planet is heating up."
In order to stop GW altogether the cause must be likewise stopped. That cause being, in essense, the transfer of tremendous amounts of carbon from underground deposits to the atmosphere. I'm not certain even the most vocal advocates of GW Theory fully realize what they are saying.
To answer your question lierally, we would have to change our lifestyle to pre 1750 conditions and I know of nobody who seriously advocates that, but it points out the need to replace burnable carbon with something else thats available 24 x 7 and without a good way to store wind and solar generated energy for use during slack periods, nuclear is the best option thats immediately available today. A hydrogen storage and delivery infrastructure would make solar and wind more "viable" but as you know, such a thing is not presently in existence, the current push by our lawmakers being to encourage diversion of food resources to the bandaid -vote mongering concept of ethanol production.

You don't have to change what you do.
You just need to do it more efficiently. Better cars, home insulation and heating systems, etc.
