If you purchased the program online, like from ebay or an spam email, then you may very well h ave gotten a pirated copy and you are out of luck and out of money. If you paid something like $50 for it, I guarantee it's pirated.

Take the software back to where you got it and demand a refund.

If you dl'ed it, contact Adobe for support, hope you kept some sort of cyber-receipt.
