The Catholic church does not think it is alright. Worship in other churches will water down your own faith, introduce errors and lead you to believe that all faiths are the same and may draw you into the sin of heresy. The Catholic church is the only divinely instituted church and no other man-made church can claim that it has been intituted by Christ. As Christ promised, the Catholic church will exist till the end of time.

Do you feel like you would be doing something really wrong if you went to another church? My Catholic husband will not step into a different church unless it is for a wedding or a funeral. My thought is that a church is a building in which people gather to worship in the same ways as the people around them. There are many different ways to praise God and follow his teachings. We were all cut from the same cloth. Bless you and Good Luck.

If you are not well versed in Catholic belife and doctrine than I'd advise agianst it. You might pick up notions which don't jive with Catholic teaching. Also if for some reason decide to go to other churches DO NOT recieve communion as this is an illustration of accepting that church. Talk your parish priest if you want details and reasons.

I would strongly advise against this. The reason is because I think it's like putting the Holy Spirit to the test, like putting yourself in a place that could mess with your Faith, which is never good to do. Plus, you can't get communion at non-Catholic churches because it's not a valid sacrament anywhere else. It's only valid at a Catholic Church.
God bless.

I don't know the rules these days. When I was a kid in the 1960s we were told that only Catholics go to heaven. All other religions were quiet infamous.
Hey, it could be worse. In the fifteenth century the Catholic church was burning people to death for possessing English translations of the bible.
Catholic theology is a moving target.

It all depends...
If you are attending non-Catholic services, say - out of curiosity for example, and they do not interfere with you attending Catholic services, there is nothing wrong with that.
if you are attending non-Catholic services in place of Catholic services, this is not okay. If you intend to fulfill your obligation to observe the Sabbath as a Catholic, it must be fulfilled in a Catholic Church.

well, a catholic priest would advise against it, since only a catholic church gives the Eucharist, all the protostant churches technicaly give communion...
but to actually answer your question, God is God. The difference is people dissagree on exactly how to worship him even though he has given us ample literature.
I have been to a couple of protestant churches, a jewish temple, and a mosque...and nothing bad has happened to me yet...
Go, you might learn something, just call ahead and mind your manners.

You are free to worship in any way that you choose, and if you want to see what else is out there go for it. Find what works best for you. You might find that you are totally in agreeance with your catholic roots, or may find something out there that speeks to you rmind a little more. If you are really searching, I would try all of them just so you can tell the difference of they make you feel and what doctirine they teach and you agree with. There's tons of denominations of christianity... lutheran, born again, mormon, non-denominational, also jewish, buddah, etc. find what works for you and makes you feel the most complete...key word complete.

You look decrease than some misconceptions. The wine grew to become into not thoroughly bumped off. The hyperlink you despatched did not say the wine grew to become into bumped off. It reported that allowing human beings to drink the wine that grew to become into there grew to become into stopped. What *grew to become into* thoroughly bumped off in some parishes grew to become into the holy water interior the fonts. This grew to become into because of fact they have been afraid of germs spreading as human beings dipped their hands in with out washing in simple terms before. and because holy water is largely a sacramental, that;s not a huge deal. yet another false impression - the CHALISE isn't incorruptible. What makes you think of it incredibly is? it incredibly is a sacramental, not a sacrament. Chalises are bought and acquired on e-Bay. it incredibly is a hunk of steel that has been blessed, even though it is not incorruptible. The hunk of steel can carry germs. The Mass constantly contains bread and wine that are later consecrated, at which element they grow to be the actual physique and Blood of Christ. the quantity of wine is beside the point. In poorer parishes, including my very own, there is particularly some bread (low priced) and basically an quite little wine (costly). basically the priest beverages the main useful Blood (and particularly situations different Eucharistic Ministers if we've them). all and sundry else gets the Eucharist interior this type of the main useful physique. that's actually allowable, because of fact Christ lives. in case you separate physique from blood, there is death. yet because of fact Christ has conquered death, once you get carry of the physique, you're receiving the living Christ (physique and blood), and once you get carry of the Blood, you're receiving the living Christ (physique and blood). So if someone won't be able to take solids, the priest will supply that person some drops of the main useful Blood, and that person has totally get carry of the Eucharist. If a parish is in simple terms too undesirable to purchase adequate wine for everybody to have some, they might all get carry of the main useful physique on my own and everybody might have totally gained the Eucharist. in the process the H1N1 scare, some parishes that have been conscious of dispensing the Eucharist in the two varieties switched to utilising basically one kind so as that there grew to become into not a uncomplicated chalise for anybody to drink from. That grew to become into completely ok.

yes as a roman catholic you can attend another church, provided you are of strong will and mind and will not be misguided/confused by the patrons of the other church with regards to the roman catholic church and its teachings. you as a roman catholic should not participate in other churches celebration of the "lords supper" as it in our faith is not as perfect as the holy eucharist and isn't celebrated the same way and with the same reverence of the holy roman catholic church. you shouldn't attend another church in place of the roman catholic mass either atleast without good reason which should be conferred with the priest, some reasons may be a funeral, wedding etc.........some sites as a catholic you may enjoy are
