It kills me when I see how so many people simply torture the English language! Their spelling is atrocious and the grammar is non-existent. The money that their parents (or the Government) spent so they can get an education is just wasted money. I am constantly trying to open their eyes and to correct their mistakes, and, because of that, I was reported countless times and I lost hundreds of points. The fact that they reported me is, believe it or not, a positive thing: at least it hurt (Simple Past) them. Maybe some of them will wake up because of the pain...

Just because a person has bad grammar doesn't necessarily mean he's lazy or uneducated. You have to realize that people have different skills. Some are more adept in the English language while some are not. Some are also more competent in math, and less competent with English.
It's not really a matter of laziness and being uneducated.
Spell Check in MS Word or search engines are also not the key to having better grammar. If people want to be better, they should read more books. If they want to check the spelling, it's better to refer to a dictionary.

It drives me batty as well. I know that my grammar isn't perfect, however, I'm also just a high school graduate. I never finished college and yet I still have managed to learn to spell and use proper grammar (most of the time, at least!) It baffles me that people can get through high school and not know the difference between "to" and "too" or "there" and "their."
And to the comment about "paraskavedekatriaphobia" -- This is an example of why I can't figure out why it's so difficult to find books or software for the Greek language. I'm Greek and my husband desperately wants to learn Greek. We've been looking for books in our local bookstores but to no avail.
While Word may not recognize "paraskavedekatriaphobia," just basic Greek would clarify the definition.
"paraskev" -- Friday + "dekatria" -- thirteen + "phobia" =Fear of Friday the Thirteenth!

You can definitely thank society for not making people learn the proper grammar and spelling of words. It doesn't help at all that the phone companies or that we have figured out the latest text messaging system. I would have to say that we are a combination of being lazy and very uneducated with knowing the importance of proper grammar and spelling.

Incorrect spelling doesn't really bother me. As an English teacher (English as a foreign language), I tell my students to do their best when spelling big words - that even native speakers are not always perfect spellers, and that that is okay. (Example: spelling "romantique" rather than "romantic" as a native French speaker is okay, confusing "too" and "two" is not)
Poor grammar, on the other hand, really gets my goose.

What annoys me is when Spell-check keeps trying to bully me into using American spellings. I am also concerned that Spell-check appears to be ignorant of interesting and useful words like "paraskavedekatriaphobia"....
However, bad spelling is not the same as bad grammar. Many people who speak correct and grammatical English can't spell to save their lives.... and vice versa

undesirable grammar isn't impolite, that's ignorant and as far as correcting somebody it might depnd on the placement and who it grew to become into you have been attempting to maximum suitable. in case you have a topic with someones manners then that's something i does not publicly criticize, yet confer with the guy approximately one on one. positioned the shoe on the different foot and picture if it grew to become into somebody doing it to you. How might you experience?

It bothers me a bit when people are so illiterate that what they are trying to say cannot be understood by reading what they type. I'm a little more relaxed about it when the meaning is clear.
