Why does the bible have an "Old Testament" and a "New Testament"? Didn't you get it right the first time? If you are infallible, why did you need an update?

The Old Testament are the laws and the prophets telling of the Messiah who will come. The New Testament is the account of Jesus, the Messiah, and His life.

It isn't an update or correction - Jesus doesn't cancel out the Old Testament, He fulfills it. Without the Old Testament, how would anyone know that a Messiah was coming? Without the New Testament, how would anyone know the good news of Jesus?

It didn't get "updated" as we're used to the term now. It went through different time periods. The old Testament is WAY before the Crucifixion and the New Testament deals with the Crucifixion and afterwards. It's not an "updated" version it's a whole different timeline!

Please don't get it jumbled. Old and new testament means that they belongs to one book. The two are accounts dispensations apart but are fused together to form The Holy Bible.
This is no update. If the new testament is an update to the old testament then why dont you throw away your old testament , clearly no one would have need for it.

"God" didn't write any part of the Bible...it was all written by man.

Many religions believe at least in part, in the Old Testament. It is only Christianity who believes in the New Testament, in which a man rose from the dead and performed miracles...

NO OTHER RELIGION TAKES THE NEW TESTAMENT SERIOUSLY. Meanwhile...others at least recognize the Koran, and the Torah.

God didn't write the Bible.

Traditional Christian doctrine maintains that the Bible was written by human beings, contains their opinions, and reflects their respective cultural paradigms, oral traditions, etc.

Unfortunately, the last 200 years has seen a movement away from the traditional view, and has created the myth that the Bible was dictated by God.

Because the Old Testament was before the coming of Christ and the New Testament is of Christ and everthing there after. And also how things are after the death of Christ.

big money says you have never even cracked a bible. Read a few pages then get back to us. I think you need some schooling from the meatbot school of atheism. He will show you how it's done.

Your question seems to be addressed to God, but since He/She/It seems to be otherwise occupied right now, let me take this one.

God did not write the Bible....people wrote the Bible. Yes, that's right. People who sweated, swore, stank, burped, farted, had sex, and ate bad shellfish wrote the Bible, and they did it in their spare time...as a hobby.

Also, God is clearly not infalliable. He/She/It created country music, din't He/She/it?

Good Luck!
