Q. If you don't believe in God, then what is the point of living?
Why does living need to have a "point" at all? Do the "lilies of the field" need to have a point to live?
If you must have a "point", then decide on your own meaning of life. We believe that it's much better to determine our own purpose, than to have some church do it for you based on their agenda!
Q. Doesn't being an Atheist "cheapen" life?
A. Actually religion cheapens life. Being an Atheist makes life more precious. Since there is no after-life, you must come to terms with the fact that this is the ONLY life you'll get. If an atheist throws himself in front of a bus in order to save a child, that action is much more meaningful than if a Christian did the same thing. The Christian thinks they'll just go to heaven and live there!
Look at the 9/11/2001 massacre in New York and Washington D.C. Those religious (Muslim) people thought that their actions would hasten and ensure their entry into eternal bliss, but what they actually did was throw away the only life they had in an act of "faith".

The supposed ark they found was a hoax. Even most knowledgeable Christians can tell you that.
As for the original question - I live life on the supposition that this is my one shot. I don't want it to end early because I only get this one chance to live. I want to help other people, improve the world, write poetry, plant a tree, learn to cook really well, see as much of the planet as possible, all sorts of things. These few years are all I get, so I certainly don't want to just give up.

If there's no God then there's no afterlife, therefore your life is much more important than it would be if Christianity were true.
Of course if you honestly believe the Noah's Ark story then there is very little chance that you'll actually be able to understand this.

I do not claim to know your heart; but how can you understand what Jesus Christ did for us if you haven't read the Bible?
Please don't depend on stories. The Bible is the inerrant, infallible, and inspired word of God. Put simply that means all of it is true. The Bible is supernatural because God is supernatural.
Please check out the "Hell's Best Kept Secret" link that I have given you. It is free to download, and will answer a lot of your questions.
I also recommend Biblegateway.com for a good online Bible. It is also free, and has a keyword and topic search.

I Know what your trying to say but as to your question here is an analogy::: If you had a million dollars and had no ability to make any more money the rest of your life..Would you spend it all in a day or would you hold on to it as long as you could.?? So actually for an atheist the opposite is true they think this is it so they will hold on as long as possible.

It's a shame that you think everything in this world is pointless if the sky fairy isn't really there.
You should enjoy your life regardless of if 'he' is there or not.
Here's a little metaphor: when I eat a chocolate bar, I know eventually it's going to be all gone, but I still enjoy it while I'm eating it.

killing yourself is an option that every one has most of us would like to live I don't need a God to want to live and I don't need heaven to ease the fear of dying,I would not say all stories in the bible are fake just exaggerated to keep it interesting and some of it was left out to hide things that would turn people away.

If Jesus died for our sins then do you really want to waste that act of 100% selfless, unconditional love. He did nothing wrong at all, he was a perfect person, yet he gave up the biggest thing he could, his life, just so you can go to heaven and be saved.
If you don't believe in religion (any religion at all) then you seriously believe life has no purpose. Sure go ahead. Do what you want. It doesn't matter. There was someone who did that recently.
His name was Seung-Hui Cho and he killed 32 people at Virginia Tech. And look at the response he got from society. Human instinct is to believe in something greater than ourselves but you don't have to. Just life is worthless without that belief.

That makes no sense at all. Are you seriously only living your life so you can be happy after death? If so, why not kill yourself now?
I'm living for my life now... my family, my home, my LIFE. I know there's nothing after death, so I make the most of what I'm doing NOW, not just killing time living until I can glorify an unseen being for eternity.

Your faith is a death cult. One of you is always saying 'why bother living if my doctrine isnt' 100% true' or 'it's religion that keeps me from murdering other people'. Many of you pray for the world to end. You don't think any other religion has any value. I'm sad and sickened that people like you actually vote. Life has no value to you, unless it involves your cult. Drink the kool aid then.
