My ex mother in law use to make a cream cheese frosting for her carrot cake but she used granulated sugar not confectioners sugar, she use to beat the sugar for 30 min. till it was all disolved and you couldn't taste the granulates in it, can anyone out there help me find this recipe or one like it?

she whipped it for 30 min. to dissolve the granulates so you could not taste them in the frosting like in some recipes, you would of thought she used powder sugar .

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form; set aside.
In a large bowl combine cream cheese, sugar, salt and vanilla. Beat until smooth, then fold in whipped cream.

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

I guess I'm wondering why you'd want to beat the sugar for 30 minutes myself, however......I'm wondering if she made a 7 minute frosting and added cream cheese.
