Yes she stands a good chance of 'growing out' of the JRA stage, but not until she is 18-20. For some reason and do not ask me, seldom do JRA go onto RA. I know three JRA who have grow up and have no problems with RA or Arthritis now. The reason why they need to hit it hard and fast with the drugs. However you might want to start her on omega three oils.

I'm sorry to hear this, your poor daughter.

I agree with the other poster about looking into lyme disease if you live in an area where that may be a concern, or have been in an area where it may be a concern.

Now assuming that it is not Lyme disease then with Pauciarticular JRA there is definitely a chance that it may subside in time. In fact, children diagnosed with Pauciarticular JRA under the age of 7 have the highest chance of having the symptoms disappear over time.

One of the side effects of this disease affects the eyes (inflammation of the iris which is called iritis or uveitis) please ensure that you get your daughter in for regular eye exams since this is not something that you would notice without an exam.

Another thing you might consider trying is elliminating dairy products to see if this makes a significant difference for your daughter. Some of us have so much challenge digesting dairy products and it shows up often in the form of joint pain that is diagnosed as various types of arthritis.

I live with Rheumatoid Arthritis and although it's not fun I have learned how to live comfortably, without the need for medications, through lifestyle changes.

Perhaps some of the things I've learned could help your daughter and I invite you to read through my website and see if the information I offer could be of any help to yourself (as you are her care giver), or your daughter.

This is really sad. I hope your daughter is doing well. Do they say the lymph nodes are connected with the JRA?

If you live in an area where there is Lyme disease, you really should have her evaluated by a Lyme specialist. There is a lot of denial about Lyme disease because the antibiotic treatments can be expensive and insurers don't like to pay.

JRA is a typical manifestation of Lyme. Lyme is theoretically curable if treated correctly. With JRA they just treat the symptoms.

You can try looking for a Lyme dr at www.lymediseaseassociation.org

Also read some of the information on www.ilads.org and you will get a feeling for how widespread Lyme is, and how many different diseases it can cause.

Many patients gather on Flash Discussion at www.lymenet.org and give helpful advice and support.

Good luck.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!
