I am curious to hear your interpretations.

He meant, the light skinned people came to teach us about the bible and now in some instances Native people are actually very serious Christians. But without money and not much of our land left. Native people found that Jesus seemed to be very earthy and Native himself. It is as if our entire focus on protecting the earth, is helping people all over the world save the planet. It was also sort of a joke : ) Like an ironic one. I am not saying Christians or identifying others solely on skin color is right either. We are dealing with mainstream American culture. And unfortunately those in control are often bifurcated from the earth. Seeing the earth as an object to be exploited.

I think he meant the white people made them change their beliefs and gave them Bibles.And while they were doing this ,they took their land.They did not consider them equals .I am a Christian and I would have to say I am ashamed of what the white people did to the Indians in the name of God.
