The mind is a product of electrical and chemical activity in the brain just as the voice is the product of lungs pushing air past vocal cords.

Substance? Do you mean does it have mass and occupy space? I don't see how it could.

The mind does not really have substance. It is a collection of information kind of like software. In actuality, it cannot really be classified as matter space energy or time.
