Initially this was caused by a car accident maybe 7 years ago. Went to a Chiropractor for 3 Years, and no improvement, really. The pain originates where the right shoulder blade connects to the spine. There's a joint here, I think. It cracks easily and will crack back and forth, eventually causing pain as the inflammation increases. Sometimes the pain translates and radiates to other areas, namely my right hip and side... Sometimes my right arm, hand hurt. My right hand's fingertips go numb sometimes. Sometimes it gets worse when I sleep, sometimes better. Is there no solution? I also like to Bench Press, so I'm sure any answer is going to tell me to stop that. But I can almost Bench 400lbs.

You may be developing arthritis . You know eventually almost everyone gets one form or another of arthritis? Mostly its caused by injuries and over use of the joints in your body. You should schedule an appointment with a doctor for a physical and discuss this problem with them. They will check you for the more common problems like bursitis and possibly carpal tunnel syndrome. They may tell you to lighten up on the bench presses , that may be your whole problem.

I have a question for you . . . what's the purpose of bench pressing? Seems kind pointless to me. Or is it just a guy thing, ya know, I'm stronger than you kinda thing? Chances are you'll need to stop at least until something can be done to help your current problem.

Anyway, You didn't specify exactly what happened in this accident. Was anything broken or dislocated? It can make a difference. If a chiropractor didn't help it may be a muscle issue. Sometimes after an injury small knots are formed in the injured muscle causing pain and/or problems. They need to be massaged. The knots are caused by lactic buildup in the muscle and it causes little deposits that feel like pebbles or small rocks. When they are massaged the toxins can be reabsorbed allowing more complete healing in the area. See if you can find a sports medicine specialist or a physical therapist who can help you with it.

If you can find it read this book "Healing Sports Injuries by Marc Chasnow, M.S. R.P.T. it's very helpful especially if you can find someone who uses his techniques.

Sound like a muscle problem that is aggravated by your bench pressing and triggering neuropathy, false nerve pain.
