With infatuation, the most important thing is how *you* feel.
With love, the most important thing is how the *other person* feels.

After all, according to Heinlein, "love" is a condition in which another person's happiness is essential to your own.

infactuation tends to be more youth puppy love type stuff but love is seeing a woman with no make up on or seeing a guy's beer gut the day after = true love

Love: it is being able to accept someone for their flaws and being big enough to stay with them in spite of them;
it makes you a better person;
it is unselfish;
has no conditions (like, "I love you if..." or "I only love you because..."); and; finally,
grows from friendship.

Infatuation: lasts momentarily, then the feeling quickly fades;
based selfish desires/intentions;
glosses over flaws;
is conditional;
happens quickly.

There is a show I watch with a quote I HELLA love that says something like, "You don't know **** about love. When a pretty little thing catches your eye and 56 years later,you **** on yourself and she's the only one to help clean it up, that's love." (lol) It's a funny quote, but it's true! It's when you can surpass all obstacles; when you find that they are the only person you can see spending your time with; when the tingle in your stomach flees, but you still find yourself excited to be with them; when you last past the little annoying things and can find greater beauty worth staying for; when every morning you wake up thinking of them; when they are the first person you call when you're going through something and the last person you call before you go to sleep; when you realize that the sweet cannot survive without the bitter, but you love them through both (and for both)- THAT'S love.

Clever:
Yes, they are often mistaken, one for the other & vice versa. Infatuation, in the best way I can describe, is based more on the shallow-er points of a persons qualities, like looks. Or when you've just known them in certain situations & don't know them fully as a person. Thats more what infatuation is. Love is based on knowing a person TOTALLY, inside & out. Know their quirks, nuances, likes & dislikes, habits, pros & cons. Love is caring a person not only for their good traits, but for their bad as well.

Infatuation is a panicky, nervous, "got to move fast" type of feeling.

Love never hurries.
