I dont know but if you like hot dogs and want less calories, I just bought these fat free ball park franks and they tasted like normal hot dogs but only had like 40 or 50 calories.

It's not the hot dog or the bun that cause you to gain weight or keep you from losing it. It's the calories. Both hot dogs and buns have calories.
If you want to create a strategy to lose weight and keep it off, you should focus on foods that provide the most nutrients per calories. Hot dogs and buns unfortunately don't make the bill ... most hot dogs are mostly fat and no nutrition (even beef hot dogs) and most buns are so highly processed they are nothing but empty starch calories.
However, if you like hot dogs, you can try something different like a turkey dog or a lean hot dog or even a veggie hot dog, and put that on a sprouted grain or wheat bun. You'll cut back on the calories of the meal AND receive healthy fiber and other nutrients that just aren't present in a regular hot dog.
To drop weight means looking at the bigger picture. There's no free ticket like "ditch the bun" and you'll melt it away. It takes an integrated approach of eating healthier, adding exercise and staying consistent.

Yes. The hot dogs have much more calories than the buns.
The low carb mentality is based on misinformation.
If you are serious about getting or staying in shape, then hot dogs are out of the question.

Hot dogs with no buns are less fattening than hot dogs with buns. UNLESS you're still hungry afterwards because you didn't eat the buns and eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's instead.

You would be better off eating just the buns and not the hot dogs. Your central nervous system will hate you for not eating the buns.

Hello! Hot dogs are a heavily processed food. If weight loss is your goal, take the hot dogs out of the diet. There are plenty of other healthy choices out there.
