Trying to remove the 4Cyl 2.4L KA24E Engine from the Nissan Pickup is very, very hard. It's a 1992.

Unbolted the Transmission from behind the engine. Removed the Starter, Unbolted the Motor Mounts.

The Oil Pan didn't want to clear the Front Axle, but we managed to jack it up onto the top of the Axle so it's riding it now.

But now the Engine is wedged. It won't pop out of there!

The Transmission and Engine appear to be uncoupled. You can see the Flywheel.

Should we shove the Engine back down and pull the Oil Pan off?

Dammit Nissan! This is not being friendly at all.

Any ideas?

take the front axle mount off it will drop down far enough to slide the engine out, don't forget to support the transmission.

According to the service manual on four wheel drive trucks you have to remove the front differential. Nissan used to silicone the bell housing but you can see the flywheel. KA-24 engine on 2 Wheel Drive removes easily I use a 3' long 1/2 extension on top of the torsion bars to hold up the transmission.

Step one to solving this is to relax and keep a cool head! Take your time and look at every area of contact that prevents it from moving. I have had it turn out to be a bolt that was still in place when I could have sworn they were all out! Removing the oil pan should not be necessary, but if it works? What the hell! Tip: Don't just "try it and see what happens". Make sure you know what the result will be before you take more things out or apart. You might want to shell out the $20.00 for the manual that will probably contain the little known trick for getting the engine out of THAT vehicle.
