is yoga more effective that actually sitting down and stretching. (I know yoga is a form of stretching, but it sounds much more relaxing.)

It's not better, but it's more efficient. Certain poses in yoga use your muscles as well as stretch them, so that's the strength training and stretching combined, and to be fit you need cardio, strength training, and stretching.

exactly, you answered the question for yourself. you are relaxed, yoga usually has the ability to relax your muscles as well as stretch you, and yoga works granually to stretch your muscles slowly so there is no pain. yoga also helps balance your system with harmony, silence and the movements balance you and keep your system in order to help digest and metabolize as well. i hope that helps, Kate

Yes Yoga is a Religious practice.apart from Aasanas,Pranaayaamam,Prathyakaaram,Dhaarana,Samaadhi,Nyaasam,Mudra,Karanam -they are Hindu religious practice to invoke the powers of Dieties.--but not demon spirits.Only those who have faith in Vaideeki(wrongly called as Hinduism) Religion can practice Aasanas( wrongly called "Poses") before certain kinds Hindu prayers.Those who do not beleive hinduism can not practice Yoga Paadhanjalam.Ther are certain indians and Euro-Americans who want to make quick money teach Yoga

Yoga is a religious practice used to invoke demon spirits.
It invokes demons whether it is done by occult practitioners in India or yuppies in America. Study it's origins for yourself.

Most people are oblivious to the facts, but it doesn't make it any less dangerous. Please study it's origins for yourself.
