I am a Canadian citizen that lives as a permanent resident in the US. I was convicted of a DUI this year and was wondering if I can I go to Canada this summer?
The rules state that US citizens with a DUI are considered inadmissible persons if trying to go to Canada and won't be admitted and will be turned back at the border.
Does this apply to Canadian citizens? My thought is that Canada would at least let their citizens return to Canada but I can't find any rules that state this.

If you are a Canadian Citizen, and have proof that you are a Canadian Citizen (passport, birth certificate, citizenship card) you can not be kept out of your own country. Especially since you do not have dual citizenship, you only have permanent residency in the U.S. In any case, you should have no problem, just make sure you have proof of citizenship with you.

You would be well advised to check with the nearest Canadian consulate to get the rules on re-entry with a DUI.

The embassy is in DC, but there are consulates in Buffalo, Detroit, NYC, LA and Seattle. They'll definately be able to help you out.
