Well I've been looking up the subject on suicide. And I've found alot of different things on it. And I still don't understand why people do it. Well my question is. Is there only one reason why people would commit suicide or is there other reasons or a make up of reasons? I've found that some people commit suicide because they lost friends or family members. Some people think about suicide because of a bad break up and others do it because of the way they look. Or others may try it because they have absoulty nothing to live for. No friends, No family, No job no house no pets. Just all alone with nothing and then they commit suicide. So my question is why do you think people do that? For what reason? And yet others may say it's because they are demon possed thats why they do it. I've tried it in the past and I failed but I want to know is it mental? Physcial? Or emotional? Or a combination of all three?

just read up on suicidology dude its a course in college as well. People have so so so so many misconceptions that its almost unbelieveable the amount of myths. Trying to rationalize with suicidal thoughts is like trying to rationalize with thoughts of murder; they make no sense to you and they shouldn't (if youre healthy). This don't mean that they don't make sense to anyone, though. Without getting into a religious mess, people think about suicide for one reason, it makes sense. Some people see suicide as insane while others see it as a solution. Its NOT cowardice, its just that your subconcsious mind believes that the path to take towards lessening the mental pain of a very stressful situation is exactly suicide. Its entirely a mental issue that arises when you believe that some situation is a complete irreversible catastrophe. For ex. for someone, a person cheating on them is the worst thing in the universe and so the pain is so great that suicide is the only rational way of exile. The catch is that anyone with that amount of mental pain and anxiety would commit suicide. To me, being cheated on does not spark such a painful reactin in me as to commit suicide but to some people it does. So, if I were ignorant to their pain, I'd say "wow! you die over a relationship you coward!" But, i'm not ignorant, so I know that it meant so much to them that it was a life or death situation.

The thing in common with suicides is that the people doing it think that there is nothing worse than their situation and that nothing could ever fix it. Its a sad thing, and its sad to hear people criticize it as a weakness rather see it as a set of mental patterns and reactions that were somehow created within the person.

Suicide is very complex and the reasoning for it is different from case to case. Some people do it because they feel as if they have lost everything so there is nothing that they have left to live for. Others want to die in hopes of being with loved ones that have passed on. Some just feel so depressed that they feel as if their life is hopeless and that they are just a burden to society and would do better to not exist. Even more may feel as if they have messed things up in their life so badly that they can't fix anything and that the only possible way to escape their problems is to get rid of them altogether. Hope this helps a little, but there still are many many more reasons.

This could be a very complex answer and a different one at that for each individual. For a more general answer I would have to say that it is definetely mental and can be influenced by depressive chemicals or events from abuse of alcohol to living an abusive life-style or being in an abuse situation. No matter the causal factors one thing is the same....it is a state of imbalance between feelings thoughts and actions...your body is telling you that something isn't right and you need to dig deeper to figure out what doesn't feel right to you and use your mind for healing power...focus toward positives and focus on a happy setting or event you've had and keep that focus and practice that focus and eventually one can work their way back to balance and the feeling that preceeded wanting to end it may be resolved and more rational thoughts will replace the irrational thoughts so that problem solving may begin.

Suicide? - Yes.

What is it? - It's a way to end one's life. It's when a person kills themself.

People do it because they see it as a way to end their pain of some sort. The reason is to stop it all. Even if a demon possesses someone, they are doing it to stop their brain from believing that they are possessed.

That is sad that you have tried it (and failed). Try, try again, is what they say, but I don't think it applies here.

Altogether, it's mental - it's all in one's head, be it from the idea that their physical pain is to great, or their emotional pain is too great, or whatever - - it's all in your head (even if you claim that it's a chemical imbalance).

How come you don't start trying to improve your life and focus on positive, productive to society, type things?

It's psychological, everything you refer to, lost friends/family, breakups, lack of self confidence (looks), feelings of worthlessness (nothing to live for, no family, no job, house, pets) are all examples of depression. A depressed person is many times more likely to commit suicide. What causes one depressed person to commit suicide while others do not is not known. As for demon possession, i guess that depends on what you consider a demon.

I think in the end - no matter the compounding reasons, people take their own life because they have lost hope. A person without hope has no reason to live. That's why its such a precious thing and needs to be guarded.

Good luck in your search.

Robert M, demons don't exist.
Kthanx.
It sounds like a "The monsters under their bed did it" kind of thing with your belief.

Anyway, onto the topic: Depression is a source cause of it, mental instability causes a lot. Depression stems, mostly, due to chemicals, but plenty of others, like the one's you've listed.

physical ,no way...emotions come and go... I think it's a logical process ,you decide to kill yourself because pains are more than happiness in your life ,but it maybe irrational because you don't count future because we can't predict it ,maybe situation even our thoughts change .
most of persons who commit suicide think a lot about that before, a pile of disappointments and pains bring them to this point ,they need help to lighten this load,to change their equation ,and show them more positive aspects of life which he/she have ignored, because a person can't know everything.anyway I think suicide can be reasonable choice sometimes but its rare .

There are many reasons for each person, but the one that I think everyone shares is that there is no hope for those people.

On a side note, if you are thinking of suicide, please talk to someone and GET HELP. You are not alone. Don't take your own life. It isn't worth it.
