They've already taken down the link on the Yahoo! homepage, pretty soon you won't be able to access it at all. I heard this from a top Yahoo! official, that they're shutting down answers. Not enough interest, the workers aren't working and doing their jobs like they should, even w/ adverts on the site they're still not even breaking even with this. Well, ask your last questions before it's too late. (and the reason why i asked this in R&S is because i know some people worship this site)

That is too bad. It is a site after all that can hold you to Yahoo for long periods of time (sometimes too long). It is a rather good idea. My favorite place to post is R&S, but sometimes I answer questions in Math, Physics and Philosophy as well. I for one learnt some pretty interesting things both about the subjects, and about people.

My link is still there, and it wasn't all that long ago they introduced the Top Contributor badge... So why did they add something if they are going to shut the site down?? It makes no sense to me... BB.. )O(..... Back again... If anyone is worried that they may not be able to get back if they remove the link from the Yahoo homepage... Just go to your profile, and add it to your favourites... BB )O(

Anything in the Y!A blog about this? Nope.

Anything in the FAQ? Nope.

Any announcements from Yahoo? Nope again.

Link still on the Yahoo! homepage? Yep.

Conclusion: you're... *cough* We'll just leave the terms up to the imagination, shall we?

I just checked the Yahoo Products boards, and there's absolutely no mention of any shutdown. I think that whoever this "top Yahoo! official" is, he's pulling your leg.

No chance there going to shut down answers. It would cause a revolution, of an unprecedented scale. Or maybe people won't care.

You are crazy. The link is still on the homepage. This is a bunch of bull. The link is still there, they just moved it, it is on the menu on the left hand side after you log on. It is the first link that is there. It is also big and bolded. Don't fall for this asker's trap.

Oh and if you don't believe me, I have proof....its all in the link...

I see the link on the side bar everytime I open up Yahoo! I'm thinking this is just another silly rumor.

Well..I heard the Halliburton is buying it and.....just kidding!!!! I think you have fallen into the rumor mill. This seems like a popular site, I don't think they would do that. If they do, somebody else will pick up on it and we can just go there! Relax........................

I do not believe you. But I would understand that workers would get fed up this kind of immaturity going on here.I would not advertise here..
