No. there is a living prophet on the earth. His name is Gordon B. Hinckley. I have felt the Holy Ghost bear witness of this to me, and the Holy Ghost will bear witness to anyone who sincerely seeks and asks God.
Constant revelation through a prophet was restored in the early 1800s. Joseph Smith was called of God and resotred Christ's truth to the earth. revelation coninus to come forth through living prophets.

No, there is no new "scripture" being written or uttered by prophets today. John was the last Apostle who was an eyewitness to the life of Christ. Nothing additional needed to be added to the Canon after he was gone.
There are prophets today who speak powerful messages for God, but everything that a modern prophet says MUST be measured by what God has already revealed in His Word.
Unfortunately, many of those who claim to be prophets today speak things that are contrary to the Bible or make false predictions. They would be "false prophets".

In Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth his secret to his servants, the prophets."
There is no addendum: "...until man decides that God is done."
A prophet speaks for God today. He is the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gordon B. Hinckley.
What a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord is scripture, in other words, the mind and will of the Lord.

Use my words as your Guide, but not your vice...
(I have written this, and the poem below, in a few other answers and a question...)
Do you need Me ?
I am there.
You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.
I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.
I am at work, though you do not understand My works.
I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.
Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me
as I AM, and then but as a feeling and a faith.
Yet I am here. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.
When you need ME, I am there.
Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.
I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.
I am in you, and you are in Me.
Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for
only in your mind are the mists of "yours" and "mine".
Yet only with your mind can you know Me and experience Me.
Empty your heart of empty fears.
When you get yourself out of the way, I am there.
You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.
And I AM in all.
Though you may not see the good, good is there, for
I am there. I am there because I have to be, because I AM.
Only in Me does the world have meaning; only out of Me does the world take form; only because of ME does the world go forward.
I am the law on which the movement of the stars and the growth of living cells are founded.
I am the love that is the law's fulfilling. I am assurance.
I am peace. I am oneness. I am the law that you can live by.
I am the love that you can cling to. I am your assurance.
I am your peace. I am ONE with you. I am.
Though you fail to find ME, I do not fail you.
Though your faith in Me is unsure, My faith in you never
wavers, because I know you, because I love you.
Beloved, I AM there.

The Lord's mouth is not shut. I testify, in the holy name of Jesus Christ, that Gordon B. Hinckley is a Prophet of God with as much power and authority as Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Jonah, Peter, James, John, Paul, Stephen, and many other prophets. I don't care how many scoff at this declaration becaue I KNOW that it is true. The Holy Spirit has testified to me of the truth. I am not alone in my testimony. Over 12 million others unite in this testimony of the calling of that man. He is a prophet of God. I know it. I know that God knows it. I know that you or anyone else may know it by the power of the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus Christ I say this. Amen. God bless you all.

Yes, indeed. The word of the Lord no longer comes to us. Once God gave John the book of Revelation, His word to us was no longer necessary, and Scriptural canon was closed. The gift of prophecy is no longer for today, just as the gift of tongues is no longer for today because it was a sign that what was being spoken came from God.

"Are not the words of a prophet scripture?"
"...and the Prophets shall be subject unto the Prophets..."
The Prophets live as you breathe.
It takes one to know one.
