I'm 16, and I used to be able to eat anything and keep a twig-like figure. Now I've watched myself get bigger, not totally though. I'm 5' 6'' and weigh about 130 lb. I have flabby abs and the beginings of love handles!!! I also have large thighs and my butt is getting big. I do lunges daily as well as some sit-ups, but the sit-ups hurt my back badly, and I can't do more than 15 without a lot of pain.
I know I don't have a lot to lose, but my friends and family are starting to tell me I've been gaining weight, and I am starting to get really worried about my figure because even my best friends are telling me I'm getting big! Help with exercises or any ways to cut out calories. I don't drink soda unless I'm going out to eat, and that's like once every other week.

One great exercise for abs that doesn't seem to do a lot but actually does is as followed; at my school and throughout sports teams they are known infamously as planks. They are very simple to do, just lay on the floor on your stomach and prop yourself up with your elbows. Then move the rest of your body as if you were going to do a push up. Hold up your body with only your toes and forearms touching the ground and keep your back and butt straight so that your body is one straight line. Hold there for about 30 seconds, relax and then go back up and hold for another 15, do 3 of these a day and gradually increase the time over the next couple weeks. It may or may not feel like much but you will definately feel the burn.
Also I would suggest talking to your doctor if you have been taking any different medications or have changed your diet or if you haven't done anything different because sudden changes in metabolism can be a precurser to more severe problems.

First of all, you are very young, and weight should be the least of your worries. Just try to remain healthy. But, if you are looking to loose weight there are many websites I'm sure you can find. It really all depends on how you want to diet. I've been a wrestler throughout all of my teenage years, and I can tell you some of us have the best diets anyone has heard of.
Losing weight is not just about doing a few sit-ups, and taking soda out of your diet (although it does help).
Running is always an essential, riding a bike, or running on a treadmill. Basically getting in cardio workouts. If you can't do sit ups to work out your abs there are many other methods. Try some research on the internet. As far as what you eat, just watch what you're consuming. Don't eat too much, and don't eat just because you feel like it. Snacks are not a bad idea to an extent. Eat an apple, carrots, and so on. Eat healthy food, but not too much.
A diet I went on during wrestling season. (I'm not telling you to do the same, but I got results and in a healthy way)
Breakfast:
Oatmeal, Orange Juice, Banana, and Toast (no butter)
Lunch:
Ham/Turkey sandwich on wheat bread (Light Mayo). Water, Celery, and an Orange.
Dinner:
Salad, Chicken, Pasta, Water or Milk.
The main thing to always know about your diet is what nutritional values food contains. Carbs, protein, fat. Yes, fat. some people tell you to stay away, but fat is a good source of energy (fat=protein=energy). Make sure you don't eat too much though. Also, don't have snacks before sleeping, any food you eat before you sleep will not be used and stored into fat deposits.
I hope I helped. Try not to worry about your looks but rather your health.

sit ups are for men - they build big muscles.
what you are doing - gaining muscle mass and your problem areas are appearing bigger since the fat is not going anywhere without cardio.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food

You don't need to lose weight, but just to keep in shape you should do cardio for 30 min at least 3 times a weak. Just keep doing the lunges, instead of doing situps just do crunches if they hurt your back that bad

I don't think you are overweight. Try eating healthy like fruits ,vegetables, water, no soda. Try exercising, or jogging once a day. In the summer, swim in pool, and move your legs.
